Check you voltage of you tps using an old needle type meter. You should see the resistance incresse and decresse in a nice swepping manner. If at any point it it drops or jumps you have carbon build up inside the tps. If that happens replace the tps

1993 GMC Suburban. When truck gets to 25mph it won't shift gears and gets sluggish. I have to continously tap the accelerator to get to quit ''acting sluggish'' but it won't go over 50 mph. It's also...

Inspect your TPS (throttle position sensor) and the wire leads. If wire leads seam to be good, replace the TPS.
If your have a 700R4 transmission, check your TV cable and adjust accordingly. But i believe your Suburban has the 4L60E and is electronically controlled.
Thank you for using Fixya and good luck. Simple and easy fix.

That was my first thought as well... replace the fuel filter to increase fuel flow to keep up with the higher speeds and acceleration.

Mazda mx6 2.5v6 engine surging

you should be able to adjust the distributor and tps to try and stop the surging. The tps is going to be located where the airbox hose connects to the intake. Look left on the front side and there should be a sensor with 2 screws. loosen and adjust. For the distributor you can advance it or ****** the timing be adjusting it. Any other questions i would be more than glad to help.
