1994 suburban surges and deselerates when trying to accelerate, is it the TPS ?

check TPS sensor which control RPM.

check the TPS (throttle position sensor)

Its runs 90 degrees off the the parallel shaft that cortrols the throttle plate on the left side of the air horn

This sounds like fuel pump failure

Inspect your TPS (throttle position sensor) and the wire leads. If wire leads seam to be good, replace the TPS.
If your have a 700R4 transmission, check your TV cable and adjust accordingly. But i believe your Suburban has the 4L60E and is electronically controlled.

That was my first thought as well... replace the fuel filter to increase fuel flow to keep up with the higher speeds and acceleration.

you should be able to adjust the distributor and tps to try and stop the surging. The tps is going to be located where the airbox hose connects to the intake. Look left on the front side and there should be a sensor with 2 screws. loosen and adjust. For the distributor you can advance it or ****** the timing be adjusting it.
