Where is the drain plug on a ktm 450 sx-f there is a bolt almost on the bottom of the case and one with an allen head close by. i undid the allen head but it had a spring and a ball inside new to me? my first ktm

Drain oil. Use degreaser to clean area. Use JB Weld & allow to set up properly before adding oil.

The plug may be hiding behind the brake lever. Also check page 30 of manual on same like for info on the site glass and a good illustration of the Drain Plug.
Oil Recommendation:
Remove the filler plug 4 and add 0.30 l gear oil 20W30 (e.g. Motorex Top
Speed 4T 15W50). Mount the filler plug and check the engine for leaks.

Collar screw, front wheel spindle Front axle nut 40Nm 30ft lbs
Brake Caliper front Brake Caliper front Loctite 243 2 19ft lbs
Brake Disk, front Brake disk front Loctite 243 1 11ft lbs

This is a relatively simple process. You should be able to lay the bike over and disassemble the side case cover that's leaking and replace the gasket. You may have some minor interference with the radiator shroud.

I have looked but am at a loss to find it also. If you drain the oil, refil it with the same amount and then check the levels adding as required. Hope this helps.
i wouldnt recommend using 03 valves though thay may work ok initially. each year there are slight changes made to the valve sistems on the ktms this is especially true. if you do use them initially it may be ok but could lead to huge damage to the case
