On the earlier dressers (Evolution engines), the oil tank is on the bottom of the transmission. If you look underneath the transmission, you'll see two drain plugs. The one closest to the left side of the bike is the engine oil drain, the one in the center is the transmission drain.

Ride bike to warm the oil up and then remove the drain plug. Let old oil drain out. Remove and replace oil filter, simply screw the old one off and screw the new one on. This is a messy job. Oil goes everywhere. I cut a plastic milk jug so it will fit around the bottom side of the filter to catch most of the oil.

Refill oil tank with the prescribed amount of oil, on that bike, I think that's four quarts. Pour in three and check the level, if still low, add the last quart. I think they bike came with H-D Syn3 from the factory.

Hello pm...instead of me typing it all out, how about a video that gives you a run down on how to do it? I recommend you get an owners manual for you bike when you get a chance, they are well worth the investment and every HD owner should have one. Good luck, i hope this helps.

the oil drain plug is on the bottomof the oil tank under the bike it is a bolt with an allen bolt hole in the middle going from frnt to back the tranny bolt goes straight up in about the same spot and the primary is the small torx fastner at the bottom of the primarry cover
