I have a 2007 KTM 990 Adventure. Rode it about 2 weeks ago. Just had the oil changed in July, less than 1000 miles on it since then. Checked oil yesterday and the dipstick is completely dry. I realize you should check it after warm, but at least something should show. There was a very small pool of oil on garage floor, but nothing to suggest that much oil loss.
It won't start, and the battery is showing fully charged. I'm not sure if the oil is directly related to the not starting. Any ideas? thanks
Piston rings gone or valve seals gone to check for this get a compression tester and screw into the place off the spark plug and kick the bike over till the readings on the guage go no higher and tell me the readings off the psi get back to me buddy
Either the rings are worn and oil is being burned, or there is a leaky gasket. If there is no oil and you try and start it, either the motor will get burned up or it will seize and not start at all.
