Where is the idle screw for carb. on 1984 ford f-150,2bbl,5.0 liter?

NO ADJUSTMENTS.. REPLACE CARB..

The jets are inside the carb & there is no adjustment

You referring to adjusting the one or two idle screws
that are visible, most likely on the front of the carb in the
base plate

You can use a vacuum gauge or a tach along with it
to get the highest vacuum reading & rpm if you use a
tach also.

You do that at an idle with the vacuum gauge teed in
to a vacuum source

Then just turn the screw in about a quarter turn from the
highest reading

Have to reset the idle screw & recheck your timing
without vacuum advance hooked up.

If you can find any specs, you can use them
They most likely will use rpm as the setting point

Do you have a Holly on that ? if not then, you have to pull the carb. apart to adjust the fuel/air mix, are you talking about the idle air mix screws, this only adjust the idle mix, not the fuel ratio when running above idle, I have seen slots (screw driver) oval, hex screws, your going to have to see which one you have, take the air cleaner off and reach it from the front of the van.

according to the site, a <350cfm holley carb should fit right on the motor and give you no problems, this will provide some reliability and tunability as well as aftermarket support for your application compared to factory, they should be very easy carbs to find used on ebay and such

You need to check if the Idle control jets are set properly, these are the 2 screws near the base plate on this type of carburettor.

Screw them fully in, then on the primary side screw it out 2.5 turns.
On the secondary side screw this out 1.75 turns. This should get your idle up.

If this dosn't work then you have got problems with the idle jet system which means you need to pull the emulsion tubes out and jets out to clean them.

Also check that your Idle screw is screwed in enough to allow the throttle to be open enough to idle.

Check the two screws / pins on the side connected to the air / gas flow levers. The screws go into and out of the carb and / or rods itself. Just play with it and hope you didn't leave anything out!

Now you need to know which cylinder is which. If you stand at the front of the truck looking at the engine, the number 1 cylinder is on the left closest to you. The left bank has cylinders 1-3-5 and the right bank has 2-4-6. So number 1 is at the left front and number 6 is at the right rear.

Try adjusting the carb. Screw in until engine starts to stall, screw out until engine idles. Check transmission filter.

it has a metal cap on it and has to be drilled out and ajusted by a licenced mechanic if your talking about the fuel mixture for the idel it's on the cabe near the body of the carburator.
