Hobart Dishwasher electrical connection
Hi chefmail,
I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.
You want to know: Somebody disconnected our AM-14 to redo the floor, and left it disconnected. You know basically where the wires went, but could use some help or a diagram.
I generally don't recomend this to the average homeowner so lets assume you're above average.
Lets also assume that the fellow who removed it knew what he was doing (he should have reinstalled it for you).
If all you need is help with the wireing:
First double check that the power is off.
There should be a romex connector a few inches from the end of the wire. If it's not there he may have left it attached to the junction box under the d/w. You must use a romex connector to connect the wire to the junction box. Make sure the romex connector is on the cover insulation not on the individual wires. The wires are color coded. Connect the blacks together, the whites together and the ground to the green wire (sometimes to a gound screw). Be carefull that the wire nuts are tight but none of the wire ends broke. Before you put the cover on finish instaling the d/w, water line, drain line, counter screws and be carefull to make sure the d/w is perfectly level. Turn on the water and check for leaks. Turn on the power and test the unit. Then put the junction box cover on. All that's left is the kick plate. If you run into problems you might consider utilizing our Repair Directory to find a repairman.
