Question about Suzuki Motorcycles

Open Question

I CANT FIND THE PROBLEM AHHHHH! I have a 2000 Suzuki Intruder vs800gl and when I got it, it had a bad back fire and seeming like the front cylinder was misfiring. I got home and unplugged the coil that led to my front cylinder and it stopped back firing. So I figured it was the coil. I bought a new coil pack, new plugs the whole 9 and still same thing!!! I have read a million problems like this but everything they have suggested I have done. Maybe my carbs need to be synced and tuned but why is it only backfiring when I plug in my coil??? I feel a significant loss in power on my bike as well. It struggles to get to 80 and should be able to zook up to 110 and getting to 80 mph feels like it takes a long time like there is not as much acceleration as there should be. Please for the love of god someone tell me what’s going on!

Either there is a bad wire, or the computer is bad. Its time to have a qualified repair shop check it out.

Did you sync the two carbs? If not the rear may be getting all the gas from the rear carb and none to the front. Twist throttle engine off and see if front carb cable is pulling the carb open.
Also unscrew the spark plug boot from the front spark plug wire and trim 1/8th inch off the wire and screw the boot back in. The plug wire end may be corroded on that wire.

SOURCE: 2000 honda 1100 shadow spirit. Rough idle, little power.

Replace the spark plug caps and try again. On Honda's the cap is often part of the wire (a dealer part) NGK makes some inexpensive plug caps about $5 each. They should OHM out to 5000 anything above or below and you need to replace them. This should fix the problem.

My 2000 suzuki 800 intruder misses at cruising speed but not idle or under load, it has also blued the exhaust from the rear cylinder

You should check your ignition system to the rear cylinder. If only one pipe has "blued" it would seem as if you have a firing problem in one pot. It could be something as simple as a failing plug or even an incorrect plug gap. Check the simple things first, then you can start looking at the expensive bits.

If you use a High octane gas, this may happen on the VL1500, You should only use regular Gas, and you will see a difference.

Have a 2000 Suzuki Intruder 800. Back cylinder

When cleaning a multi carb bike, it is best to take them all off. Clean and reset float levels on both. Then reinstall, set both idle mixture screws about 1 turn out. Then adjust, and you'll probably have to syncronise them also.

The #2 cylinder on my 2001 vs800gl intruder is dead. I'm not getting any fore to the spark plug at all. What could be the possible causes

Check the distributor contact points. They might have worn out. Replace the curved arm and the central spindle contact point and see if the sparks are coming or not. Also check the fuse for this cylinders current supply, it might have blown..................sodeep
