SOURCE: oil drain plug location, oil capacity, what kind

The drain plug is #10 here.Use 2 lit of oil, run the engine for a couple of minutes and then add some more to reach the level a bit above the middle between the lines on the glass gauge on the right hand crankcase cover.Measuring must be done with the bike standing straight and not on it's kick or middle stand.
There isn't any maintenance to be done to the transmission, apart from the clutch if your friction disks need to be replaced. The tranny is inside the engine and it is lubricated by the oil pump with the engine's oil.The only way to inspect it is to overhaul the engine.

SOURCE: i poured oil in my tranny - where is the drai plug

The drain plug is in the bottom right corner of the radiator as you are facing the front of the car. You attach a rubber hose to the side and turn the plug counter clockwise to open it.

Where can I find transmission oil plug on Lincoln MKZ 2011?

Call a Lincoln dealer and ask them .
You should find out there is none.
For the last 20-30 years, cars do not have drain plugs.
To drain the tranny, you take a large pan and put it under the tranny oil pan and loosen the screws around the perimeter of the pan and catch the oil as it leaks out.
God bless your efforts.

How to drain and fill transmission fluid in 2012 chevy malibu?

GET NEW GASKET AND FILTER FOR TRANNY ALONG WITH THE FLUID (BEFORE YOU BEGINE)
GET A LARGE FLAT DRAIN PAN.
PUT CAR UP ON 4 JACK STANDS.
place drain pan under tranny pan.
undo tranny pan screws - allow one corner to hang lower than the other corner (to allow fluid to drain) slowly remove them all.
Its messy! empty tranny pan into drain pan. set tranny pan to the side. undo the filter clamp, carefully remove the filter - set into the drain pan, remove the gasket around the tranny body/tranny pan.
Clean tranny block surface with clean cloth. install new filter, install clamp tightly. Clean tranny pan, place gasket onto pan and then reinstall tranny pan. (this only change the fluid in the tranny body and pan) If you wan the fluid out of the torque convertor you have pull the pan under the torque convertor and turn the convertor so you can get at the drain plug. Allow fluid to drain into drain pan. Reinstall drain plug and pan. (you will need a lot of fluid) Check manual for qty. Place car back on to ground/floor. Refill tranny through filler tube. Do not start the engine until oil is at full mark, and when you do start it do not all it to run for than 4 minutes - stop and add more fluid and check full mark again (repeat until no longer sinks below full mark. gently test drive around you block -- come back and check level while engine running. Top up if needed.
Siphon out excess above full mark. Test drive around 3 block,
come back check full mark. Because the torque convertor was emptied it can take a while to get all the air out it.

Need to know how to change tranny fluid in 2002 fatboy.

Since I don't work on the later model bikes, I'm not certain when Harley changed the location of the transmission drain plug. On your model, there should be a drain plug on the bottom of the transmission. If not, it's a small pipe plug located just below the chrome end cover of the transmission behind the exhaust pipes. The difficulty in getting to the plug when it's located on the side of the transmission is one of the reasons Harley moved the drain plug to the bottom of the transmission. Drain the oil and then remove the large plug from the chrome end cap on the right side of the transmission to refill it. The plug takes a large Hex key or Allen wrench to remove it, 3/8" on the earlier models. Fill the transmission with 20-24 ounces of transmission lubricant or H-D Syn3 20W50 synthetic engine oil.

Good Luck

Not just changing oil, but is there gear oil to change, 1988 Harley 883 XL Sportster

Yes, there is oil in primary and transmission of your Sporty. To drain the oil, look for the drain plug on bottom of rear section of the primary area, back near the large round section of the primary. Drain the oil here and replace the plug. Add the oil at the top primary chain inspection port, large plug with a large "screwdriver" slot or two small bolts in it. Add 32-36 ounces of H-D "primary lubricant for Sportsters".

Where is the oil drain plug on 2007 Heritage Softtail Classic and how to change oil?

Look at the bottom of the oil tank from the right side of the bike. You'll see one hose or pipe that goes downwards towards the back of the transmission. The hose will follow the frame and come out way down low on the backside of and slightly under the transmission. There is a plug in the hose or pipe. Take the plug out and the oil tank will drain.

To change the oil, drain the tank, change the oil filter, refill with three quarts of oil in the tank. You also have oil in your primary that should be changed every 5000 miles or so, and the transmission serviced at the same interval as the primary.

To drain the oil on the primary, there is a drain plug under the primary case at the very rear of the case. Remove this to drain the case. Refill the primary through the derby cover. Fill with oil until the level is just to the bottom edge of the clutch spring. 38-42 ounces of oil. Do not overfill or the clutch will drag and make finding neutral with the engine running impossible to find.

To drain the transmission, there is a small plug on the bottom side of the chrome cover on the right side of the transmission. Remove the plug, drain the tranny, and refill through the large plug that takes a hex key in the chrome cover. 20-24 ounces of transmission lube.

Good Luck

Where is the oil drain plug? How do you distinguish it from the transmission plug?

the oil drain plug is the 14mm bolt on the bottom of the the big black oil pan. on a tacoma the oil pan is more in the front and tranny sits behind motor- therefore trans pan if further back. I also think the tranny drain plug is more of an alan hex head type bolt. If the fluid comes out red you got the wrong one.

2004 1200 XLR WHERES OIL PLUG AND TRANS PLUG

Damon, on the bottom the drain hose has a plug. Remove the plug to drain ENGINE oil. When done draining (takes a long time as it drains slowly), put the plug back in and add oil to the oil tank on right side of the bike (don't forget to change the oil filter too). Transmission/chaincase/clutch oil is drained by removing the plug from the bottom of the tranny case. Adding tranny oil is done through the clutch inspection cover or chain inspection cover on the left side of the bike using a funnel with a hose attached (sold in aoutoparts stores everywhere). Tranny oil and engine oil are not the same! I would use Sportrans or HD tranny oil for that instead of 20W50 in the tranny. Add no more than 28 oz. If you add the whole quart (32 oz) you will have hard time finding neutral as the case will be over-filled. If you take the clutch inspection cover (a.k.a. derby cover) off, make sure the bike is not leaning on the kick stand but is upright or the proper amount of oil in the tranny will spill out. I put a brick under the kick stand and it centers the bike pretty well.

Good luck!
