SOURCE: Fuel line issues on Yamaha Timber Wolf ATV

That was an atmospheric vent you found that should not have gas in it. If it does, the carb has over flowed. It probably needs to be cleaned with special attention paid to the needle valve and float assemblies.It is routed up high to prevent water and debris from entering it and clogging it up. It should have holes for it to pass through on the snorkel coming out of the air box behind the gas tank under the seat.

The diagram below should work for you. Put the piston on TDC. the OHC cam gear will have a single mark or may have two marks, see below. Be certain the front side of the chain is taut when mounting the gear. The cam chain tensioner keeps the back side taut.

Hi My Yamaha 250 Timber Wolf 2wd early mod starts and runs for about 10 mins then stops cant start again till cools down not water cooled engine has spark though could it be fuel or electrical ?
Sounds like your engine is starving for fuel check the fuel filter. Just take it off and blow through it. If its hard to blow through get a new on or try blowing thrugh it in opposite direction with an air hose till you get a new one
