The Sunl's are notorious for the stator going out. Check with your dealer for specs on testing the stator. It could also be the CDI unit too! I hope this helps

first are you getting spark?second are you getting fuel? to check the spark take out the plug and put it back into to cap(holder) do not touch the plug and turn over the engine.you will see a small spark.if not you starter coil is bad.to check the gas look under the carb there will be a overflow hose by the overflow hose is a flathead screw, open it if no gas comes out you will need to take out the carb and replace the float valve.

SOURCE: Honda Pressure Washer HP 5 not starting

You can try spraying some carburetor cleaner into the carb. If it starts for a minute, your carburetor need cleaning. When you added new gas did you remove the old gas first? Is the air filter clean?

SOURCE: four wheeler wont start. it

if the 4-wheeler is just clicking when you try and start -- this is a good indicator that the voltage is not high enough to activate the starter,, and the sound that you hear is the solenoid clicking.
try and jump the four wheeler battery with a car battery,, this should give it the power it needs to turn over. as soon as you have the ATV running - ride it around for awhile and let it run and charge the battery, there is also a chance that the battery is going bad and it may be time to buy a new one,, also make sure the generator on the ATV is charging the battery at a voltage of 13.6 to 14.4 volts DC. IF jumping the battery still does not start the machine and it still just 'clicks',, then the solenoid itself could be at fault -- replace it and then try and start..
(( use a bench charger to fully charge the battery and re-install into the ATV and you should be back on the trail in no time at all )).

I have fire to the coil but not to the plug on a 1985 Honda four wheeler. Can you help me?

If you have fire to the coil but not out out of the coil, the coil is usually bad. However on mid 80's Hondas, there is another common, but little-known cause. The connector on the wire going to the spark coil gets loose, corroded or both. Pull the connector off and inspect the tab connector on the coil. This connection has to be the cleanest and best connection on your cycle. If the connector tab on the coil is not shiny, polish it with emery cloth and push the connector back on. If it is not the tightest connection on the Atv, squeeze the female connector so it makes a tighter fit when you push it on.
BTW in my experience, this is the leading cause of ignition failure on Hondas more than 20 years old with with CDI ignitions.

Hello i have a 1986 Honda fourtrax 250 2wd atv and i just bought it. the previous owner stated that he hit a ditch and it flipped. once turned back over it would not start. 2 years later i buy it and it...

Pull the carb and throughly clean it after sitting the old fuel will turn to varnish and clog everything up. also if the machine was on its top check the oil and make sure it is clean. leaking gas is a indicator that you will probably need a carb kit for it that must include the float valve and needle.

Why would a suzuki 4-wheeler not start. I have

Did you change the fuel filter? Is there a way to confirm that you're getting gasoline to the carburetor? If it fired once it should mean that you have spark to the plugs but there could also be a short in the kill switch circuitry that kills the ignition system. Pull a spark plug and put it in the spark plug wire socket, ground it against the motor and crank the engine and see if you're getting a good spark. Ensure that the air filter isn't dirty.

Why does my four wheeler keep back fireing and not starting?//

Could be air block in the petrol tube and clean the carborator and remove the dust and dirt to run the unit. Cleran the petrol tank atleast once in a year to avoid dust formation at the bottom of the fuel tank. Adjust the gap in the spark plug to standard specification to avoid back fireing.
