Hookup is simple , battery lead on large post of solenoid . Small wire fron key switch goes to flat connector . When power is applied to flat connector , starter will engage ...
only thing it can be now is charging stater is bad but dosnt make since its getting power somewhere has to be stater is charging check voltage at stater see if power there if is check relay behind dash see if power there then go to switch see power there this done while engine is running and battery unhooked if no power at switch replace it if motor wont start jump start at starter to get it going if wont start let me know well go from there
Most likely it will be the stater. And they are pricey. Coils hardly ever go bad or the only other thing that would cause a no spark problem could be the kill button. I hate to say it, but i think it will be the stater.
check the contions on the battery and the wire from the battery to the stater and check for power on the little wire on the stater when you turn your key you will probably need help for checking the little wire and check your ground to the motor
*if your battery wont charge,
1) you might check for an "in-line" fuse from the "stater" to the starter cyliniod . could be blown.
2) or the "stater" , which is located under the fly wheel is gone bad.. it will need replaced..(this isnt cheep)
3) make sure all your battery and cyliniod wire leads are good and tight.
p.s. IM TYPING "S.T.A.T.E.R." not starter..the charging mechanism is called a "stater" not alternater...f.y.i.
