SOURCE: i have a honda crf230f. someone tried to steal it

Check the cost of a new switch at the dealer parts dept. Then google " motorcycle salvage honda " and see what a switch would cost there.

Pleas rate this solution. Thanks Chad! :)

SOURCE: Have a 97 honda. Just purchased. It has a toggle

So If I understand, you turn on toggle and then use key to engage starter? Do brake lights and turn lights work, just not the running lights? Or are all tail lights dead. If none work, juice is not getting to the headlamp switch. Best fix would be to replace the probably bad ignition switch and repair wiring back to original, but quick fix would be to run a second wire from toggle switched side to the headlamp switch +

SOURCE: I want to know how to wire a toggle switch to my starter and do away with my key switch on my 2008 Honda 420 FM Rancher 4x4

Toggle wont work. You need a momentary switch. Personally I would remove the key cylinder and dump all the pins out so anything could turn the ignition. Then you dont need to re-wire anything.

I have a 1984 honda shadow vt700c it is getting power to the ignition switch but thats it.no power to anything when i turn the key no lights no nothing! Any ideas?

If you have no voltage past the switch when the switch is in the on position you may have a bad switch or a broken wire or a blown fuse. check ALL of the fuses first. Look at the wires as best you can. Pull on them. If all else fails, hot wire the switch. If that works then replace the switch.

Had my 84 Honda VT700c Shadow running just a week ago. went to start it up today turned the key to on and no lights or anything. Battery checks out good. Ant thoughts as to the problem?

First check the main fuse on the starter selonoid, if it is good, try wiggling the key back and forth, the switch contacts can get loose in these switches. Sometimes the retaining tabs break off, if this is the case you will have to replace the insert. The parts are available from Dennis Kirk, and you will have to remove the ignition lock to replace it.
