My 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix is overheating and leaking antifreeze, I add coolant every few days then the temp goes up and I have to add coolant again. There doesn't seem to be any smoke coming from the...

You should look under the car after it sits a while and see if there is antifreeze on the ground. If so try to see where it could be leaking under the hood directly over the puddle. You could have a leaking water pump. If so there would be dampness under the right side of engine compartment. Also check the radiator hoses at front of car.

2005 grand prix- the heater that blows into the car wont blow any air. Where is this fan located and is it an easy fix?

most a/c fans are usually located into the a/c heater box assembly most vehicles are inside behind the glove box area some are in the engine compartment at the firewall .generally not to bad to fit.regards agwbk

2004 GTP Grand Prix overheating in slow traffic cools down when on highway. What would cause this? Previously replaced was thermostat, water pump & both radiator hoses.

Are the cooling fans coming on during normal operation? If your ac works turn it on and see if it overheats with ac on.If it does not overheat the fans are not operating properly under normal operating conditions. The ac will force the fans on. What you can do to start is just let the car idle in park and see if fans will come on normally. The coolant temp should reach 200-210 before the fans will come on. Make sure the air is off at this time. If we can verify the fans are working or not working properly we can go to the next step. Let me know what you find out.

My 2005 pontiac grand prix was overheating and was leaking water out of the jug so I put a thermastat in it . And it still was overheating so I flushed the radiator and it was still overheating, then I...

Most likely it is a combination problem involving the water pump. The temp sensor being slow to respond being the problem would be easily identified. If the vehicle is over heating when you are moving and 30 to 40 mph it is not a sensor or Fan. It could possibly still be the fan if the fan clutches are not working and allowing it to free spin as air moves faster through the Radiator but this is less likely than a bad water pump.

How much does it cost to fix a water pump in a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix.

The price of the water pump depends on which engine you have in your car. There are three different size engines for a 2005 grand prix. If your not going to do the work yourself, I cant give you an acurate quote as all mechanics charge differently. You'll just have to go to differend mechanics and get some quotes.

1996 vw jetta vr6 keeps overheating,

Get another boyfriend! "Just kidding"! ok, this is what I mean about "leaving it to the experts". #1 Make sure there is enough coolant, Check for leaks. Install a coolant pressure tester and check for leaks. Fix whats leaking. #2 Make sure coolant fans are coming on, and specifically at 220 degrees. If not, check fuses. Jump the coolant fan to make sure it comes on. if it does, then you may have a bad relay, make sure relay is commanded on. At this point , you may need a wire schematic for the coolant fans and related parts.
