I have an 2006 Polaris Ranger 500 EFI with 500 hours on it and it has a difficult time starting and sputters untill you drive it for about 5 minutes. It just started doing this and does it just as bad hot or cold. It runs fine untill I turn it off again. I changed the spark plug and couldn't find a fuel filter. Any ideas?

Check that the electric fan motor comes on ,and check the radiator for mud and debris u may also need new oil and filter change,All of these things could make it run hot 1 more thing roll it in neutral 2 make sure breaks arent hanging up.

mine did the same thing & then it finaly quit running altogether...the gas gauge stoped showing in the display also. I pulled the old fuel pump out & replaced it with one out of a 97 ford areostar witch has an almost indentical pump & now the machine runs like new...and my gas gauge started showing again & I saved myself 500 bucks because the pump i used was gave to me...lol

I have a 2006 Sportstman 500HO ATV, EFI. Sometimes it will run 100% correct, other times it will start, idle fine but then when giving it throttle will will start to surge almost like it's hitting a rev limited. Sometimes it will backfire and stall. I already replaced fuel filter, flushed the fuel lines and gave it fresh gas and installed a new spark plug, but no good. I also checked the throttle switch and it's not making contact to stall it. I download the service manaul and tested each sensor and they tested fine which is probablt why I get no check engine light.
This ATV is mainly used to plow snow in my driveway, no salt. It's used around my property but very lightly. It's still as clean as it was when I bought it and it doesn't have but about 40 hours on it.
