Open Question

Datatool immobilizer goes off frequently ?????

The fob is datatool 433 and has a circle and a triangle on it
the problem is that the alarm on the bike goes off easily even if there is nobody around it.
i have to press the circle shape on the fob to stop it and it is annoying when it is parked in my driveway and bothering the people and using power for no reason.
question is how do i make it less sensitive to wind or movements and also lower the volume ?????????
any help will be appreciated greatly.
thanks fred

SOURCE: nissan maxima 2001 panic alarm goes off for no reason

Hello, I had the same problem with my 2001 Maxima. The dealer suggested new key fobs, but the eventual fix was the car battery. When the battery is on the way out, the voltage drop is enough to set it off, just as it would if there was a voltage spike when someone breaks in. I have no problems now!

SOURCE: removal of battery

Hi .... On your fob you have a few options, you have to press the fob to place it in service mode.
2.Turn ignition on and hold the smaller of the two buttons on the fob until you hear a beep.

This is service mode but you still get a beep every few seconds which will drive you nuts! It must have a backup battery built in because it continues even without the battery.

You can take it out of service mode by pressing the arm/disarm button.

SOURCE: alarm immobillizer

The alarm systems on land rovers are quite tempramental. They work on radio frequencies. If you park next to a radio antenna like they have at post/ telecommunications offices. Then the radio waves they send out can interfere with your cars system, making it think it has been attempted to be broken into, and so immobilises. You should have a 4 digit code called the EKA code. You must have this to knock off the immobilser to start the car. The car must be locked completely, all windows shut and then enter the EKA code using your key.
Hope this helps

Datatool mpt1340 - how do I list this on motorbike insurance details? I don't know which type it is

if this was fitted to the bike when you bnought it, then you should have been given the certificate for the datatool alarm by the previouse owner, the installer or fitter of the alarm sends a copy of the certificatee to datatool when they have completed the job regestering the machine details, including the reg number of the bike, they will also identify the type of alarm from this, you will need a copy of this for your insurance company, you could try contacting customer support at - Cached - Similar
