Hi, Nick for this scenario you will need your service manual that has all fastener torque specs and a wiring diagram on the back pages, parts fiche, and owners manual if you can not find the best tool you ever bought for your Harley, despair not, for a mere zero $0 you can download another one.

SOURCE: Will a '06 softail springer (FXSTS/FXSTSI) front

Sorry,I'm not up on newer hogs but here goes.Borrow or buy shop manuals and get spec on length of spindle. It's welded to bottom tree.If both models have same length it'll work.Check dia.of shaft cause bottom bearing is pressed on.If all measurements check out you can leave bearings in place.Shaft threads may be different so you'll have to use springer nuts. The only modification if all goes well would be brake hoses tor calipers.Length? In the old days you could swap out shafts but now you're talking modificatrions with a capital M.

SOURCE: where is the back, foot pedal

I'm pretty sure that model has the master cylinder under the floor board on the right side. The brake fluid reservior is in on the down tubes in the front of the frame behind the front wheel. Follow the tube from that reserviour down to where ever the master cylinder is. You'll find it.

Good Luck

2000 Harley Davidson FXSTS Springer Softail speedometer stuck at 40 mph

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Contaminated or faulty speed sensor.
2. Faulty turn signal module.
3. Corroded, broken or loose connector pins/sockets in the wire harness between the speedometer and the ECM or TSSM and the sensor.
4. The speedometer unit has failed.
5. Speedometer instrument fuse has blown.

Springer softail turn signal speedometer and taillight quite working when installing new bars. Fuse???

Hi Steelcitysig, on a Softail remove seat and directly behind the battery is a black plastic box. The cover slides up and off revealing the starter relay and the system/fuel pump relay for you injected folks and the various assorted circuit fuses. Good luck and have nice day.

I just purchased a 2003 heritage springer classic with 4100 miles. The engine sounds seem high, higher than my 1994 low rider. Is this common ? Ed

Hard to tell what engine sounds mean, from your description. But they should sound similar.
Issues on newer machine are valve tapping. But hey, you could be talking about exhaust system....
