Kimmo,
The tire pressure in the manual is 4.0 (four point zero) PSI..... NOT 40 PSI. You are lucky that the tire did not explode (yet)

SOURCE: LT 500 ATV clutch adjustment

Hi!
I havn't come across your Machine before but hopefully a little Q 'n' A will solve/FiXya problem.
O.K. 1st is the clutch cable operated? if so can the cable should be adjustable from the handle bars?(Then take up the slack to leave a slight gap when lever is pulled) Do this by loosening the locking screw on the end of the cable and turning the adjuster anti clockwise so tension is put on the cable Not the lever.
If the cable isn't adjustable from lever go down to the engine and do the same as above on the cable there.
2nd Is the clutch fluid operated (Master Cylinder on clutch lever) If so look for clutch pushrod and adjust it by loosening again the locking nut and winding it out to create less gap between pushrod and clutch arm. You may need to bleed the system if after adjusting still the same.(Come back to me on that if needed)
3rd If when carried out the clutch starts slipping i.e. in top gear Engine Rev's and doesn't move forward well? then release the tension on either cable/pushrod until happy medium.
Good Luck!

SOURCE: 1999 Polaris 500 ATV: Battery went shot. Just use

I had a simular problem with my 99 sportsman 500 and it turned out to be my pulse coil somehow became out of alinement. The pulse coil air gap should be between0.016 to 0.040 inch, But I would start by checking the coil it should read 0.3 to 0.5 ohms. Good luck and hope this helps

Honda Trx 500 electrical pulse generator

Okay I see your answer. I will research this tomorrow but my first instinct is that two volts is probably right. The pulses are low voltage and trigger the spark electronically using low voltage power which is then amplified. .

Front Tyre feathering on Silverwing 600

The OEM Dunlop, IRC,Bridgestone, or quality major brand tire should be adequate. I have always had the best life and wear out of my tires by running higher pressure (usually 35-36 pounds ). The ride is harder but it reduces cupping on the tire sides increasing usable tire life.

Tire

Medium Hard Pack). In general you tyre pressure should vary between 12 - 16psi depending on ground condition's. The softer the terrain is the less pressure you put in your tyres, for example, muddy condition's would require a tyre pressure of about 12 - 13psi, hard pack would require about 13 - 15psi and even a little harder if its rocky. You have to be careful on rocky surfaces though because the harder your tyre the more the rocks will have a marble effect on you. If you don't want to be messing around with tyre pressures all the time and want a happy medium, I would suggest running 13psi.,,,
