SOURCE: Valve specs for VT 500 honda shadow 1983

Your valve clearances should be:
Intake .08-.12 mm (.003-.005 in)
Exhaust .12-.16 mm (.005-.006 in)
I usually start all gaps in the middle of given specs, then fine tune from there.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: Front brake too stiff on 1984 Honda Shadow VT500C Shadow

You should have disc brakes??? They are not adjustable.
It is common for a caliper piston to freeze up or become corroded and bind up so it will not move freely.

165 pounds per cylinder. It can be a little less since the motor is not new anymore. As long as they are with in 10 pds of each-other. Anything less then 125 pounds per cylinder, then its time to rebore 1 size over.

1983 shadow 500vt will turn over but not crank

You ill need to take off your left engine cover, remove the flywheel, and replace the starter gear (part#5) and three rollers (part#13). This is your one-way clutch that allows your starter motor to turn the engine over. The gear mating surface has become rough or chattered and is not grabbing properly.Replace these parts and your starter motor will turn the engine over again.

Need the torque specs on clutch for a 85 FLHTC

The torque specs are the same as with any Evolution engine. The compensator sprocket 150-165 foot pounds.
Clutch hub nut (left handed threads) 60-80 foot pounds.

Use Loctite 271 on threads. Two lines in nut on Compensator and one line in clutch hub nut.
