SOURCE: wiring schematic for plymouth grand voyager 1995

Is there green corosion on the tip of the wire ? Chances are the answer is yes. You will have to detach the fuse panel/box and run a new wire and connector to the fuse panel. Splice into the wire you can see, but make sur you cut enough of the wire off to get rid of the corrosion.Hope this helps.

SOURCE: alternator not charging battery on 2007 f-150

Replace the Alternator. Sounds like the internal brushes have worn out as you appear to have the correct feeds to it. If you are tempted to open the alt to have a look at the brushes, be careful as incorrect assembly can cause serious damage as can incorrect re-assembly. You can simply replace the brushes but I would advise against it as the copper rings the brushes rub on (the slip rings) will also be worn and require replacement, this is difficult if you do not have the experience. Also, the bearings should also be replaced as they will no doubt be worn too. Altogether a specialist job, so grab yourself an new or exchange alternator. if you have to get a second hand unit, have it tested BEFORE you fit it..

SOURCE: need to know how to hard wire ignition module

Ford has substantially altered their 1978-86 electronic ignition test procedure. Due to the sensitive nature of the system and the complexity of the test procedures, it is recommended that you refer to your dealer if you suspect a problem in your 1978-86 electronic ignition system. The system can, of course, be tested by substituting known good components (module, stator, etc.)

This system, which at first appears to be extremely complicated, is actually quite simple to diagnose and repair. Diagnosis does, however, require the use of a voltmeter and an ohmmeter. You will also need several jumper wires with both blade ends and alligator clips.

The symptoms of a defective component within the solid state system are exactly the same as those you would encounter in a conventional system. Some of these symptoms are:
- Hard or no starting - Rough idle - Poor fuel economy - Engine misses while under load or while accelerating
If you suspect a problem in your ignition system, first perform a spark intensity test to pinpoint the problem. Using insulated pliers, hold the end of one of the spark plug leads about 1 / 2 inch; (12.7mm) away from the engine block or other good ground, and crank the engine. If you have a nice, fat spark, then your problem is not in the ignition system. If you have no spark or a very weak spark, then proceed to the following tests.

Tell if you are talking about this ignition system...

SOURCE: The beast wont start on the key, battery ok , ign

Hello! The Inhibitor relay is more than likely not pulling...If the vehicle is an automatic the selector switch passes battery when in park on a yellow wire to the relay...If a standard the clutch switch passes ground...if manual, relay is called clutch interlock...located under hood...passenger side fender...Automatic...called interlock relay...drivers side fender to the right of air intake...diagram may be to small to read but I'm limited on size...Light Green wire on clutch switch supplies ground when switch is closed pulling relay...Yellow wire off gear selector switch (park) supplies battery to the inhibitor relay...Wish I knew if your vehicle was man. or auto...See if proper batt. or gnd. is present to pull relay...If proper potential is present and the relay does not pull it is defective...Send a comment...

I need to know wher is the location start relay in old mobile aurora 2001 bicause when turn the kid on my relay is only clicks

There are 2 locations for starter solonoids, and it is easy to determine which one you have. Open your hood and follow the positive ( red ) wire from the battery. If it goes straight to the starter then you have a starter mounted solenoid (relay). If it goes to a small black box on the fender well then you have an external solonoid. If the fender well, it should have that battery wire to one side and another red wire going to the starter, with a smaller wire mounted in between. If you are looking for the relay, you should have a black rectangular plastic box mounted under the hood on the driver side of the vehicle. Open that box and look on the inside - it will show you which relay is for the starter.
Hope this helped!!

Misubishi galant 2001 no spark wont start

Hi Tammy, does you vehicle have any lights lit on the Dash, check engine light etc... You need to see if you have battery + voltage at the coils , an to see if the PCM is turning them on an off ! PCM - is the engine control module . An see if there is an input signal from the crankshaft position sensor . It would also be good to hook-up a scan tool to see if it can communicate with the PCM . Mite have a shorted 5volt reference circuit . Do you have 2.4 L 4 cylinder or 3.0L V-6 ? IF you have the 2.4 L 4 cylinder you need to Check for B+ on the Black/White wire at pin 4 in the connector at the ignition failure sensor with the key on. Jumper the Black/White wire at pin 4 to the wire at pin 3 at the ignition failure sensor connector. If spark is present now, replace the ignition failure sensor. Unplug the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor connector. Check for 5 volts on the Green/Red wire. Reconnect the CKP sensor connector. Check the Black wire for a good ground. Check for B+ on the Red wire. If the Green/Red wire goes higher when connected to the sensor and cranking the engine, the CKP sensor is faulty. Let me know if you have questions, thanks.

1989 dodge 250 the red ignition wire is getting hot and melting in two when the key is turned to the run position

Blue wire to ignition switch, from alternator voltage regulator.( 12 volts ) ECU power wire, Red wire to battery terminal. Blue wire goes from alternator to the ignition switch. The voltage regulator senses the incoming voltage from the blue wire. ) it grounds the green field wire This energizes the alternator field, and the alternator begins to produce a charge and sends it to the battery via the main output wire. When the voltage regulator senses 14 volts from the blue field wire, it cuts the ground to the green field wire. Good-Day!

97 Pontiac grand am - no power to 4 underhood fuses (f/p injector, ign mod, erls, abs) i have figured out those 4 fuses are powered by a thicker pink wire not from the battery. Any insight where that pink...

Not sure about the pink wire but these fuses get their power from the fuse box itself. The fuse box is fed directly from the battery 12V hot signal by a red wire maybe your red wire has turned pink over time. That wire comes from the battery, a jumper post from the battery, the starter wire, or the back of the alternator depending on the model of the GM. i believe your Grand-Am has the fuse box powered directly from the positive post on the battery via the battery cable. The fuse box gets also gets an input from the ignition switch so that when the switch is in the on position the bus bar containing "ignition on" voltage becomes hot with battery voltage. one side of the fuse comes from this voltage bus bar and the other side of the fuse goes to the component.

I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500. does anyone know anything about the headlight wiring?I would like to know how it works. Currently , i know the violet wire is 12v constant and the vt/wht wire is ground when...

Well, where to start...
First there are 4 different headlamp systems available for 2001 Dodge Ram 1500.

> WITH Daytime Running Lights and WITH Quad Headlamps

> WITH Daytime Running Lights and WITHOUT Quad Headlamps

> WITHOUT Daytime Running Lights and WITH Quad Headlamps

> WITHOUT Daytime Running Lights and WITHOUT Quad Headlamps

So providing you with an EXACT flow chart of what happens depends on which system your truck is equipped with.

However, the general jist of it goes like this:

The Violet wire you mention is your power feed to the bulbs (high beam and low beam elements) from the headlamp fuse (HOT AT ALL TIMES). The dimmer switch basically determines which of the two headlamp elements is going to get grounded to complete the circuit. When the Violet/White wire gets grounded, that is low beam. When the Red/Orange wire gets grounded, that is high beam.

Just a little "Automotive Electrical Systems 101":

Your Headlamps work just like ALL automotive electrical circuits. The power goes from battery POSITIVE to battery NEGATIVE in order to complete the circuit. PERIOD! Every circuit on your vehicle is as simple as that. If you take a closer look at the wiring diagrams, you will see this.

Battery died in a 85 Dodge power ram 4x4, got a new battery, now none of the lights work. Checked fuses, bulbs. Thinking it might be a short some where. Need diagram to trace wires.

YOU have either left a wire off the battery lug or a wire of the earth lug as the Red wires goes to starter motor and alternator, and elect like fues box etc and the BLACK wires goes to earth on the Engine bolt and on the body under the bonnet as the engine and trans is on rubber mounts so the body must have a earth wire also,.,.,.,.,.Another way put a jump lead from black term on battery to any where on the body/fender /bonnetany good earth then turn on the lights,
Let me know how you get on , Ron
