Went to change the oil on my 2002 electra glide ...nadda oil

Went to change the oil on my 2002 electra glide classic 88 cid. removed the drain plug and only about 1 cup of oil came out. the rest of the oil had to be siphoned out of the oil resevoir. all told i was able to remove about 3.5 qts including the filter oil.... I was able to apply light air pressure to the filler opening and only air would come out of the drain hole. the owners manual gives no help, and locates the drain plug in the wrong place (front left of oil pan). any help would be appriciated...thanx mark

The drain plug on the bottom of the engine that I removed was inserted vertically from the bottom. It was a 1/4" ellen wrench insert plug. The oil that first came out was dark motor oil, it ammounted to about 1/2 pint. This opening was vented to the oil fill opening, when light air pressure was applied to the oil fill opening, it came out the drain hole with a spurtering of oil, not a significant quantity. The only way to remove the oil turned out to be by siphioning out the oil from the fill opening / dip stick, and by cranking the oil out of the removed oil filter hole...not a pretty sight. thank you for your response.

Are you sure you didnt drain the primary case oil they usually hold a little less than a quart.. dont run it until you make sure or you could burn clutch and primary chain up.

I need to know where the oil drain plug is on a 1999 FLH Ultra Classic Electra Glide Harley Davidson

The oil pan is on the bottom of the transmission. Look under the transmission and you'll see two drain plugs. The one closest to the front left corner is the engine oil drain. The one closest to the center is the transmission drain.

Good Luck

Changed oil in my 2002 ultra classic and when i started it up there is no oil pressure.

No oil pressure isn't good. Sounds like an air bubble may of got in the system. Try this to prime the oil system after an oil change. Pull the spark plug wire off the plug. Now turn the motorcycle over and see if you can prime the oil system. This should cycle the air bubbles through without harming the engine. If that doesn't work, try draining the oil again, and prime before you start. If none of that works, your oil pump may have fail.

Where is drain

The Electra glide bikes usually have the oil tank on the bottom of the transmission. On the bottom of the oil, there are two drain plugs. The one in the center is the transmission drain. The one on the left side a bit forward is the oil drain.

Oil change 1999H D Electra glide

The plug ( 3/4 wrench ) under the trans when your looking at the trans cover ( right side of the bike ) is the trans. If you drained that replace it with 24 oz. of either HD trans fluid or I prefer Golden Spectro 75/140 ( much better shifting on a Harley ( trust me you'll never go back to HD trans fluid ) the drain for your motor oils is on the same pan ( on the bottom ) but it's the plug facing the front of the bike. Looks just like the trans plug. Both use a 11105 o ring which you should replace everytime ( just for piece of mind as well as leaks ) you need 4 quarts of 20/59 HD oil. Hope it helps.

Where is the oil drain plug on my 1999 HD Ultra classic?

the crankcase drain plug is under the engine, but the skid plate is covering it, thats why you dont see it. oil changing is done by removing the drain plug of the oil tank

Where is the oil pan plug located on a 1999 Harley Ultra Classic Electra Glide?

No oil pan plug, it is a sump system. Just find the oil tank, drain it, change the filter.
