Went to change the oil on my 2002 electra glide classic 88 cid. removed the drain plug and only about 1 cup of oil came out. the rest of the oil had to be siphoned out of the oil resevoir. all told i was able to remove about 3.5 qts including the filter oil.... I was able to apply light air pressure to the filler opening and only air would come out of the drain hole. the owners manual gives no help, and locates the drain plug in the wrong place (front left of oil pan). any help would be appriciated...thanx mark

The drain plug on the bottom of the engine that I removed was inserted vertically from the bottom. It was a 1/4" ellen wrench insert plug. The oil that first came out was dark motor oil, it ammounted to about 1/2 pint. This opening was vented to the oil fill opening, when light air pressure was applied to the oil fill opening, it came out the drain hole with a spurtering of oil, not a significant quantity. The only way to remove the oil turned out to be by siphioning out the oil from the fill opening / dip stick, and by cranking the oil out of the removed oil filter hole...not a pretty sight. thank you for your response.
