SOURCE: Change oil in 2004 Yamaha V Star 1100 Classic, procedure?

i think the oil filter is at the front behind a round finned cover, if you find the drain plug it should be right above it, it shoud tell you how much oil it takes right next to the filler

SOURCE: where is the oil filter on my yamaha V-star 1100

On the right side of the bike (right side when ou are sitting on it) just above the rear brake lever behind a small circular plate. remove the plate and the oil filter is inside (you will easily see it). Warning---on these bikes you have to drop the front exhaust header and right floor board in order to change the oil filter unless you install a after market oil filter relocation kit. If you plan on changing your own oil it is highly recommended to install this relocation kit.

SOURCE: Yamaha 1100 Drag Star 2001 Custom motor starter,

These parts are fairly reliable. Rather than buying new, you should be able to pick one up from a motorcycle breaker who will post it to you. I would expect to pay about £60-£100 tops in the UK (Depending on mileage). ANy Yamaha dealer will be happy to order you one new, but they are a hell of a price!

SOURCE: replaced starter relay and stater in yamaha 1100 2001 v star

Charge battery to full, start in neutral, still clicks? Bad ground, or bad connection. Jump starter solenoid with screwdriver, etc. if motor turns over the relay is bad. Chaz Moto DC

SOURCE: Can Synthetic blend oil be used with a Yamaha 1100

Yes, Yamaha makes regular,semi-,and full synthetic oil for there motorcycles. Make sure the oil you use is JASO MA certified for motorcycle use. Do not use any oil that says energy conserving, it will shorten the life of your clutch and drive gears. Amzoil and Mobile 1 both make good motorcycle oil (full synthetic). Full synthetic is often the same price as semi-synthetic.

I have a 2001 v-star 1100 the problem i have a nocking noise in the frount cylinder, set the valves, set the chain guides. the noise is the loudes in the head pipe

You mean the timing chain guides?

If so double check the valve adjustment they may be too high on the clearance making a loud tapping sound or the chain is slapping against the guides due to improper installation.

Need to know what to set valves at on a 2002yamaha v-star 1100

I use a standard setting of .003" on the intake valve, and .005" on the exhaust valve. Works really well 99% of the time.
