Question about Suzuki GZ 125 Marauder Motorcycles

2011 Suzuki GZ 125 Marauder cuts out

Hi, My Suzuki gz125 2011 will start every time, but then cuts out, and the f1 red light comes on. There seems to be a fuel injection system on it rather than a normal carb. Any ideas would be great. @

Hi, Andrew and the usual suspects are:
1. Severely discharged or a damaged battery must have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead-acid batteries.
2. Faulty alternator/generator and or voltage regulator.
3. Loose or corroded battery terminals and or cables especially the "NEGATIVE" cable, look for loose, corroded, or broken connectors inside the cable harness at "BOTH" ends.
4. Faulty main circuit breaker or ignition switch, check for loose connections and continuity.
5. Faulty system relay or ignition relay, check for continuity.
6. Faulty ignition coil, ignition/electronic module.
7. Faulty CKP, CPS, CMP, MAP, TPS, or BAS sensor, corroded, loose or broken wire connector pins/sockets.
8. Throttle cables and or idle speed improperly adjusted hot idle speed should be 950 RPM to 1000 RPM.
9. Faulty neutral, side stand or clutch lever safety switch.
10. Fuel tank empty
11. Fuel tank contaminated with ethanol sludge.
12. Water or dirt in the fuel system, or clogged filter.
13. Quick disconnect check ball stuck.
14. Restricted, blocked or kinked fuel line.
15. Faulty fuel pump.
16. Faulty pressure regulator.
17. Faulty or clogged fuel injectors.
18. Lean angle switch is faulty or needs adjustment.
19. Catastrophic engine failure, perform compression test

SOURCE: wont start, not getting fuel, checked lines, carb and used starter fluid, runs but won't continue to run

You may need to do a more detailed cleaning on the carburetor. I like to use a Den Tek Brush, (used for cleaning teeth), to get into the small ports. They work great for this job. You may also need to check the small screen in carb. It gets blocked with debris. If you need further assistance, please contact me.

SOURCE: suzuki gsxr k6 600 fuel injectors problems

The display is really FI as in Fuel Injection. The fuel injection computer has sensed a fault in the Injection system. You will need to ride the bike to a dealer and have them read the fault codes. It is probably just something minor. Major faults will not allow the bike to run. You will not hurt the bike if you ride it.

Can I get a “very helpful” rating on this answer?

Sounds like you have a problem with the computer or the FI system on the bike. That is what the (F)uel (I)njection is on for.

SOURCE: 93 gmc sierra 5.7 liter engine, injection carb,

you say you replaced the fuse, but does the fuse have power? the gray wire at pump should have power when cranking, or for 2 seconds when turning key on. At fuel pump relay, put power onto gray wire, the pump should run if the wiring is good. if it doenst run then ck for power at fuse while power is on gray wire.

What does f1 mean when it flashes where the temp guage is?

It means you have a problem with the fuel injection system if you can start the bike then take it to a Suzuki mechanic. If the F1 is full on i.e.not flashing then the bike will not start normally. You still have a fuel system problem but now you have to find a way of getting it to a Suzuki mechanic. You should have a red light showing near the neutral indicator light.

Dash of my suzuki gsxr 1000 2004 reads 'F1' ,bike does not start

Sensors in the Fuel Injection system have detected a major problem. The Fuel Injection system will not allow the bike to start if a major problem comes up. Take the bike to a dealer and have them hook up a code reader. This will tell them what triggered the alert. Bear in mind, it may just be a bad sensor.

the f1 light you see is a FI light for your fuel injection, your sensor could very well be bad. your shop can tell you what codes mean what and how to get them, after you know what the codes mean you can start to find the problem.

Red light come and showing f1

FI stands for Fuel Injection. The fuel system sensors have detected a problem. It could be anything > a dirty air filter FI stands for Fuel Injection. The fuel system sensors have detected a problem. It could be anything > a dirty air filter restricting airflow, a plugged injector, an error in fuel mapping, any number of things. Serious problems can trigger the computer to prevent the engine from starting until the problem is fixed. You will need to take the bike to a dealer to have them plug in a code reader. The code reader will tell you exactly what problem has been detected. There is a chance the sensor has gone bad. Keep that in mind. Now determine if you want to do the fix or have the dealer do it. F-I is fuel injection system telling you to clean air-filter,fuel-filter and clean the fuel injector system. This is a good start.

F1 displayed

The FI light is letting you know there is a problem with the Fuel Injection system on the bike. You will most likely need to take it to the dealer and have them diagnose it with their computer. You can check your fuses and make sure they are intact, but most likely dealership problem.

That FI message is a computer warning telling you something is wrong with your fuel injection system. Have you installed a power commander or fuel nanny recently?
