I have a Vulcan c-x gas model 901. My pilot is on but fan fails to start when required. I can hear the 'click' when solenoid is triggered but no fan. Any ideas ? Thanks in advance.

SOURCE: how do i adjust oven pilot light on vulcan range

hi, there is an orfice for the oven located on the gas valve. If you are using LP gas, the orfice should be turn down all the way (counter clockwise). If you are using natural gas, the orfice should be turned out about 2-1/2 turns. Was this oven set up to be used with one gas and noe is being used with another? If so, you will need to do more then adjust orfices. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

SOURCE: Have a 20yr + old vulcan gas heater and I cannot turn pilot off

Hi, If you are talking about the knob on a gas valve that you use to light the pilot and turn it off also, you have to turn the knob either ccw or cw to turn it off. To light the pilot is when you turn the knob to pilot and push down and hold it, light the pilot while you continue to push it down for a minute, and then slowly release it and pilot will stay lite. So, if this is the type you have just turn knob one way or the other and it will shut off. If you do not have this type set up, just turn off the gas to the furnace at the flex line as there should be a hand valve by code and by law that supplys gas to you're furnace. You can shut it off there and the pilot will also shut off.
Sincerely,
Shastalaker7
PS If you don't have either one of these shut off's, on the main gas valve it self, you should have a place marked pilot adjustment. Pop the small chrome cap and insert a very small screw driver to turn it cw to shut off pilot. This would be you're last choice.

SOURCE: pilot on, gas fires up, no fan comes on.

Sounds like you are talking about the indoor fan that circulates air through house. Turn the unit off and make sure the fan rotates freely. Next check the capacitor for the fan. If it looks swollen its probably bad. If it doesn't look swollen then you will need a multimeter to check it with. If that's ok then check the fan relay. Let me know what you find.

We purchased a used Vulcan Steamer model # VSX10GC which was set up for propane. We need to convert it to Natural Gas. How do we do this and how do we get the parts

Please be careful when converting appliances form natural gas to propane. Depending on the equipment there are several changes that need to be made. You will at least have to change burner orifices and convert or replace the gas valve. Some gas valves are not convertible. What many people over look are changing the pilot orifice and on some appliances like braising pans, griddles and char broilers there is a runner tube orifice. The gas valve also needs to be adjusted to the proper manifold pressure and pilot adjustments will be required. I recommend on Vulcan equipment that you contact Hobart Service since they are factory trained on all Vulcan cooking equipment.

We are cranking up this BRAND NEW Vulcan flat top. Weh have the convection oven below up and running, but we can't even see a pilot light for the flat top. Advice anyone? Culinary-yours Chef Geir

older ovens have pilots but the newer machines are electronic ignition, there are ignitors in the oven and electrodes or ignitors on the top burners, when you turn the knob for the burner you should hear a clicking sound and see a spark around the burner, that's what lites the burner, the gas comes in and the spark ignites it,i don't know much about your machine but it can't be any different from other stoves.if none are sparking there should be a spark module in there or they could have separate modules,if you send the full model number i can look it up for you

Old vulcan heater pilot light on but will not ignite heater when you turn it on please need help ..thank you

I believe that model has a milivolt pilot generator. The possible causes of your problem could be a dirty pilot generator preventing it from providing the proper voltage to the gas valve or a defective gas valve. If you have a digital multimeter that will read mili volts, you can check the out put of the pilot by placing the leads on the two wires at the gas valve and reading the voltage. It should be 500-750 mili-volts. One other possibility could be one of the safeties have opened. They will be little button type snap disc limits with a button on the top. They will have a wire connected to each side. Push the button, if you hear a click, that safety has tripped. If you provide the exact model number I can post an exploded view for your use.
