A low Universal Pump can be used! It must not exceed 3.0 PSI! I have used the ones from NAPA that are a 2.5 PSI Low Universal Fuel Pump! It will fill the float bowls up and then stop pumping. Your float needles have to be Good and working properly and float level set right at factory Specs. Any pump over 3.0 PSI will NOT Work as they will overfille the carbs and flood engine. Good float needles and seats can hold up to 3.25 PSI Fuel Pressure but anything over that will push them open and overfill the float bowl chambers which will flood the engine cylinders with Way To much Fuel! Charging problems could either be a stator issue or a failed rectifier/regulator combo. To check:

• measure the battery voltage with the engine off;
  
• start the bike and measure it again, it should be slightly higher;
  
• rev the bike, the voltage should rise as the RPM increases;
  
• measure the voltage by pairs on the 3 white wires from the stator;
  
• there should be AC voltage that increases as the RPM ncreases.
