SOURCE: how to change oil

On the earlier dressers (Evolution engines), the oil tank is on the bottom of the transmission. If you look underneath the transmission, you'll see two drain plugs. The one closest to the left side of the bike is the engine oil drain, the one in the center is the transmission drain.

Ride bike to warm the oil up and then remove the drain plug. Let old oil drain out. Remove and replace oil filter, simply screw the old one off and screw the new one on. This is a messy job. Oil goes everywhere. I cut a plastic milk jug so it will fit around the bottom side of the filter to catch most of the oil.

Refill oil tank with the prescribed amount of oil, on that bike, I think that's four quarts. Pour in three and check the level, if still low, add the last quart. I think they bike came with H-D Syn3 from the factory.

SOURCE: Replace coil on Harley Sportster 883R 2006/7

Replacing a coil is one of the simpliest jobs on a Harley. You've only got four connections. Two of them are spark plug wires and it makes no difference which wire goes to which cylinder as the Harley ignition system is a "dual fire" type system. Both spark plugs fire at the same time every time a piston comes to top dead center.

On the other two connects, the small primary connections, these make no difference either as the coil in a non-polarized type coil.

So, nothing to it, just make sure you are using the correct coil for the bike. The primary resistance of the coil should be about 3-4 ohms for your electronic ignition system. Simply unbolt the old coil and bolt in the new one.

2006. Will radio take a blue tooth device?

Apparently not. All Bluetooth radios have the logo on the front. Sometimes you can get bluetooth dongles that plug in the back. There are aftermarket replacements.

The manual page 62 doesn't mention it

CTRL+F, type 'radio', press enter. Then do the same typing in 'bluetooth', nothing!
