Where is the idle adjustment screw on a 2001 Yamaha Road Star Midnight Silverado?

I appreciate the info but none of the links shows me where on the bike the idle adjustment screw is located. The service manual shows what the screw looks like - combination Phillips head with a knurled outside circumference but it doesn't say where or from what side of the motor it is located at. I just need to increase the engine idle so it doesn't die when I come to a stop light.

Try looking at the electrical schematic at the link below, just choose your specific model.

Do not run it in that condition because it is going to cost a lot more to fix if it goes completely. it sounds like a valve is dropped or a bearing spun or a rod is bent or a compression/oil ring may be broken-but ANY of those will be a lot cheaper if you do NOT start it again and either tear it down yourself if you know how, or get a certified mechanic to do so. Good luck!
