Suzuki t500 with higspeed exhaust and air pods new mikuni vm32 Q; i need to go up 10 sizes of jets ? can i buy a kit? where from ?

Check the K&NFilters Website and you'll probably find the right size for your bike. Be aware, though, that changing air filters can lead to less performance as a result of carburetor jetting problems that can take some time to solve, and get your bike running well gain. Usually the manufacturer's set-up works better than home-fiddled-with ones.

If it's the Sreamin' Eagle Mikuni, it should come jetted close enough to take your bike to someone with an exhaust gas analyzer. That's the best way to get your card jetted correctly with the extensive amount of changes that you have made on this bike. I would advise that you take the bike to someone that has a dynometer that is equipped with an EGA and have the run the bike up. I would not want the mixture to exceed 14:1 at any time and preferrably run about 13.5:1. It's a bit on the rich side but it will help keep your engine running cooler. I've installed the carbs before but I cannot remember what jets they had in them. Sorry. Good Luck.

Going to the manufactures specs or anybody's specs for that matter won't help you, you have interrupted the air flow, Get an adj jet from Dyna flow, I did the same thing, went back to the oem specs and still wouldn't run. Got a Dyna flow kit and off it went. Those things are expensive but worth it. Plus they are adj. And you get a free dyno check if you ever find somebody with a dyno tester. My Mikunis were a little newer, but I'm sure they got something. I found mine on Ebay. Hope this helps.

Richard, I would suggest you go with a stage 3 jet kit for improved air flow. Ebay has them for a great deal. I'll post a link. Good luck. ^^

I just fitted a gianelli exhaust expansion to my old Yamaha DT125 lc -87. The bike lost 20km/h with the new exhaust. It revs better and accelerates better but when I get it to 100km/h with 3rd gear at some...


Go to a smaller exhaust or a longer exhaust (not practical. Engines need some back pressure. That is why headers on dragsters are all of equal length.

Ls650, S40, BS40 Mikuni carburetor, I want to fit a pod filter, but bike runs all funny ,even if i take side cover off the airbox?


If you fit a pod filter, or take the lid off the air box, you are allowing more air into the engine. Therefore, you must also allow more fuel to mix with the air. To do this, you must increase the jet size in the carburator. I recommend Dyno Jet brand jet kits. They will have all the parts necessary as well as tuning guidelines to follow.

You are dealing with Suzuki vacuum carbs, you cannot just replace the air box and re-jet. What you are running into is there is no pressure to raise the diaphragm because there is no restriction to create such vacuum. Either put the stock box back on or go to the biggest main jets you can buy. Sometime even when you get stage 3 jets you still have issues. Vacuum carbs are not made to run with no restrictions.....putting aftermarket exhaust on it will make things much worse.

The breather tube may warrant re-jetting but not re-syncing.
