SOURCE: Check engine light is on and ECU blings 12 times.
you use the button that resets your trip odometer to reset the maintenance light.
with the key in the ignition but not turned on, hold the trip reset
button in with one hand. then, while holding the button in, turn the
ignition key to the ON position so that the lights on the dash come on.
continue to hold the reset button in and watch the maintenance light. it will take about 15 seconds for the light to go out
when the light goes out, turn the ignition key OFF and then release the trip reset button.
your light will be reset and come on in about another 5000 miles to remind you of the next service

consider this
the head is oil cooled from the lubrication of the rocker gear and shaft/s
check that you have lubrication to that gear
the head is cooled by incoming air/fuel mixture so check the tune up as it may be too lean
if it is water cooled then check for an air lock in the head in the coolant
