Have a 2006 V6 long bed Tundra, Nothing happens when I turn ignition, no click nothing. Last week it did same thing, I turned the battery cables and it started. 3 days later it did it again, this time I completely cleaned up & re-attached battery cables still Nothing. Hit the starter 3-4 x's and it started. Yesterday, a little hard to start twice, (like a weak battery), third time Nothing. jumped it, nothing, lights and all work great, "always" have. Could it be my starter? or a wire to starter? After being towed home I checked wires all look good? Don't most starters click once or more when going out, this does Nothing.
First check the battery. A weak battery will let the lights and radio work but not enough power to turn starter. A bad starter will work sometimes and other times not. I had bad battery cables that looked good and was clean and tight but they would not let me jump start sometimes. After getting a tow into a shop they replaced both battery cables and that was my problem.
Starters tend to fail intermittently. Yes, if it started after a "whack", I woul suggest replacing your starter. Make sure all connections are tight and of course clean terminals and cables.
