I had this exact same problem on a hipster 125, it was a faulty regulator module ( mounted under the seat) I also found a short circuit (somewhere) in the wiring loom between the regulator output and the chassis (probably what killed the regulator in the first place!) I cut and replaced the entire wire to save removing most of the loom and after testing reg to ensure it was dead i fitted a new one (about £60) bike charges and runs like a dream now even with fully lights approx 80% of the time. good luck

Replaced alt/ battery 2005 PT cruiser is good but i loose the charge and battery is dead by morning ...even after running my car !

Connect an ammeter and set to the 2 amp scale and check out the current drain with the ignition key removed. Remove a fuse one by one until the current drain goes down. That is the fuse that is connected to the power line that is responsible for the drain. Check all of the accessories, etc on that line for the draw.

In meantime till you resolve the issue just disconnect the negative battery terminal till next time you want to use the car so the battery does not drain.

check the ground wire, some where not even connected and install a pig tale to the battery to charge it on the scooter, if the wires are OK you need a new stater check with kymcoforum.com and look up bet and lose

I have a 1993 cbr900 i bought a brand new battery and 2 days l8tr it was dead what will cause my batteries to keep getting drained while riding my bike??

The first place I would look is the voltage regulator. When they start to go out, they will continue to drain amps from the battery even when the bike is off. An ohm meter can test to see if there is continuity there when the bike is off. If so, replace the regulator. Pretty easy to test/diagnose the regulator.

I have a brand new battery in my 2000 Honda Civic & the car will not start now. The battery was installed 2 days ago & the car started just fine & ran fine, but then I didn't drive it for 2...

Check the function of the alternator. Charge the battery with a battery charger or jump start the engine. While the engine is running use a voltmeter to check the voltage at the battery posts. Red to + and black to -. You should have between 13.5 − 16 volts. If you do not the alternator is bad or the drive belt is loose. If the alternator checks ok then something is on that is drawing power from the battery and running it down. Check under hood, trunk, glove box, and interior lights. Can also be a brake light switch causing the brake lights to stay on. In rare cases it can also be a stuck relay such as a power window relay. From you description I think you will find the alternator is ok and your problem is something is on and running the battery down.

I had the same problem so I got a new battery & separate charger to charge both new & old, then replace as required.
