The wires for the rear indicator lights should be under the seat on each side and the front ones should be in the headlight shell, the flasher unit is also in the headlight. The wires to the flasher unit should be a white and a light green/brown.

Need a diagram for how to find the flasher in a 1999 dodge stratus..it's not in the fuse boxes

Simple method without mystery:
  1. Turn blinker flashers on;
  2. Listen for clicking;
  3. Find source of clicking. It is the flasher. :)
NOTE: Emergency flashers and blinkers usually use a separate flasher unit, but one is close to the other. If your blinkers do not work but your emergency flashers do, find the emergency flasher unit by finding the source of clicking, then locate the blinker flasher nearby. They will ALWAYS be underneath the dashboard on the driver side.

I have a a 1977 Harley Sportster for which I have to put turn signals on. I have it sort of done but what I need ti know is do I need fuses for them? I heard someone mention blinker swich. What do I do? I...

To answer your question, you do need a fuse on the system to protect the wiring in the event of a short circuit. The turn signal system on a '77 model is pretty simple. You just have a "hot" wire that runs through a flasher unit. When you press a turn signal switch on either side of the handlebars, it completes a circuit through the turn signal units. The resulting current flow causes the flasher to start making and breaking the circuit. It continues this until you release the turn signal switch. If you will contact me directly at [email protected], I'll send you a schematic. Make sure you remind me of what you want and the year and model of your bike. I get lots of these request and I can't remember who wants what.

Try replacing the turn signal flasher first.It should be above the drivers feet near the steering column and looks like a typical flasher unit. A little round canister with 2 wires,sometimes 3 wires.It is what you hear clicking when using the turn signals.

Toyota blinker makes noise when the blinkers aren't on.

You need to replace flasher unit. This regulates the flashing speed. Check under the drivers side dash (it may hang amongst wires or in a fuse box) or under bonnet where all the large fuses are (these will be in a covered box). Sounds like under dash because of noise. Google search flasher units to see what the look like.

How do I change the blinker circuit in the dash of my '94 Corolla

33b318c.jpg
Hi mate this is an easy wiring diagram to use and you only have one flasher unit for both flasher and Hazard operations. Sorry for taking so long to answer bit buzzy. I have a circuit stored some where in my brain for a two flasher unit also but this one is the most simplest you will get.

Remember to fuse the Ignition wire. Ask the supplier which contacts are negative and positive on the flasher, don't mix them up you will blow up the flasher. If the dash lights aint working run a wire parrallel to those wires from the circuits left and right (two terminal Type). Some flashers have a build in (three terminal Type) dash signal terminal.

TURN SIGNAL, BRAKE & HAZARD LIGHTS

No Turn Signal Operation (blinker)The turn signal lights in your car are a basic electrical system that controls the front and rear blinker lights to alert the intended direction of the vehicle. We have listed some of the most common problems and repair troubleshooting tips below:
Troubleshooting Procedure
To start troubleshooting this problem:
  • Turn the key to the on position (do not start engine)
  • Inspect the system fuse located in the fuse panel and replace if needed. If you cannot find the location of the blinker fuse consult your owner's manual or an online repair manual
  • When a blinker flasher fails it can cause blinker lights to say on, not blink, or not go on at all. To test the blinker system flasher, remove the flasher unit and insert a jumper wire between the two terminals. If blinker stays on in both directions without blinking, replace the flasher. If you cannot find the location of the blinker flasher consult your owners manual or an online repair manual.
