Unlikely to be electrics. More likely fuel delivery. See if the fuel pipe run close to something very hot like the exhaust or the engine cylinder or cylinder head. I have seen airlocks that stop fuel after 10 minutes.
It appears to be a known issue. There are some other ideas.
Take a look at the spark plug caps. It is likely that rain water has collected inside the caps. Pull them off the spark plugs and spray some WD-40 in each one. WD-40 is non conductive and will remove the moisture. Also make sure the caps haven't cracked or become carbon tracked on the inside (looks like squiggly pencil lines drawn on the cap). Carbon tracking means they've got to be replaced.
Next, I would find the carburetor drain screw (on the bottom of the float bowl) - and drain the carb. Any water collect in there will cause major performance issues.
Also take a look at the air filter. Make sure it is clean and dry.
Finally, check the weather forecast next time - before you let the Rainman take your bike for a ride.
