1. Turn the printer power
off and then on.
2. When XXX MB appears on
the display, press and hold
down the ‘OK’ button until all
three display lights flash once
and then remain on (this may
take up to 10 seconds).
3. Release the ‘OK’ button and
press the ‘up arrow’ to scroll
to NEW MAINTENANCE KIT.
4. Press ‘OK’ to reset the
maintenance kit counter.
If this does not work, you need a FIRMWARE UPGRADE

Contact the company that you purchased the maintenance kit from.
They should have the solution or send you a replacement.
I know of no way to change the Xerox printer to match up with a non Xerox maintenance kit. They would not set the machine up to accept non Xerox products since that voids warranties.

Hi Did you run up the developer unit? Menu button down to Other then to Service and press enter on developer and switch off and turn on will run for a while. In the service menu after you run up the dev unit you may have a option in there to press enter on the MK Symbol.
Cheers
SOURCE: Need to reset the counter
First, you enter the config menu by powering off the printer. Hold the middle and right arrow buttons and turn the printer back one. Continue to hold until you see Performing self test. Then release. You will then see config menu. Scroll down to reset maintenance count and press select. It will reset and bring you back. Then restart the printer.

There is no reset. Xerox never designed a supply reset for this machine.
If you installed a new one, either 1) you've got a bad one (get it replaced under warranty) 2)
the chip is not being read (due to drum maintenance camshaft cracked and out of position
