Check your fuel filter is clear, although as its only 2 years old shouldn't really be a problem but that depends on how good the fuel is. Also check the fuel tank itself is "breathing". Run the engine for a while and open the fuel flap and listen. Do you hear a sound of air being pulled into the tank. If so it isn't breathing and the breather needs clearing (I took my fuel cap to pieces and cleaned before replacing). If it stalls out after idling for a few minutes, try idling with the fuel cap open (be careful though) to see if it runs fine.

Hooking up the gas tank the gas line to petcox the vac line to petcox what is the other line what do it go to this is on a 1982 gs650 suziki

The other line goes to the fuel gauge overflow right next to the petcock vacuum line on the tank. Big nipple on petcock goes to fuel line leading between carb 2 and 3. Small nipple on petcock goes to the brass nipple on the front of carb number 2. The other hose hooks up to the nipple coming from the fuel sending unit and routes down below the battery and ends. It's there in case the fuel sending unit leaks the hose will route the gasoline away from a hot engine instead of pouring out right on top of it. The nipple to the fuel sending unit should be positioned pointing directly at the petcock on the bottom of the tank. In case you don't know what I mean by sending unit it's the big round circle on the left side of the bottom of the tank with 2 wires coming from it.

Have a 1980 suzuki gs550l w/o tank, got a new tank but dont know which lines go together theres four lines on the carb

there is a small port on top of the second carb on the right, that goes to the small port on the fuel petcock mounted to the tank. The main fuel supply (larger port on tank) goes to the bottom fuel supply rail with the only carb port on that rail. The upper two ports between #1 & #2 carb and between #3 & #4 carbs are vents and those hoses get plumbed down under the air cleaner, careful not to pinch the vent hoses or the bowls will not fill up with gas. This is the same for an automatic petcock or a manual one.

Do all three gas lines from carb connect together and lead to gas tank

2 lines are vent lines, make sure they are unpluged , and clear. the other is the fuel line that runs to the petcock, and one from the petcock to the front of the carb near center of motor, this is a vaccuum line witch allows the petcock to open , and let fuel flow in the off position from tank to carb. hope this helps

1980 gs 1000 fuel petcock has two connections where do they go?

On the one that has two hoses does it still have an "Off" position? Usually petcocks that have two hoses, one goes to the carb vacuum, and the other is for a fuel supply for the engine. That way it only allows fuel to flow when the engine is running. I have found these to be a poor design and can often leak and allow fuel to run into the engine if your carbs are acting up. If the replacement only has one hose, then it will work fine, just be sure to cap off the vacuum port on the carb.

Suzki ozark 250 cleaned out tank and carb runs but will not idle

sounds like the float is not working properly , could also be the jet. would be a good idea to buy a carb kit, not very expensive and save a lot of grief.

1994 suzuki RM80R: problems with the carb loading

Sounds like trash in the gas supply is holding the float needle open causing the float bowl to overfill. Remove the petcock from the tank and clean out the water trap bowl (some petcocks don't have a bowl). Drain some gas from the tank through the petcock hole to help clean trash out of the tank. Install an inline fuel filter
between the carb an the gas tank.

Now clean the carb one more time using an air hose to blow trash out of the float seat and then blow out the fuel line as well. Be certain the float level is set at the proper height. This should solve the problem for you.

Please rate this solution as a "FixYa" if this solves the problem. Thanks!
