I know this isn't the answer you were looking for but I scoured the web and found nothing the best thing I can recommend is to call your local bike shop they should be able to tell you with in a matter of a couple minutes.
You are right, the pump should take care of that make sure the fuel line is hooked up right and there are no kinks in the line, it almost sounds like something came unpluged when you were under there. I would double check that.
