If they did that, then they may have also wrecked the alternator and anything electronic (gauge head and ignition control module?) in the bike. It shouldn't have damaged the starter motor or the lights, though. Check & see if the lights work - try the brake light, that's easy. Headlight, too. The neutral indicator light should be OK.

If the lights work but none of the electronic stuff works, then try to avoid that friend when you have a bike problem. You'll need to trace power to everything electronic - anything with a circuit board inside - and verify whether that particular circuit board works at all, replacing it if it doesn't.

The alternator itself (the windings) should be fine, but the voltage regulator (probably inside the alternator but possibly a separate module) will likely be wrecked.

Nearly all electronic devices are sensitive to battery polarity, and can be destroyed if that polarity is reversed.

Why does the fuse keep blowing on my cub cadet ltx 1050

A fuse blows because the circuit it provide power to has a shorted component or wire.

How do you give a jump start to someone using a 2007 Dodge Charger?

The underhood connections can work by themselves...POS to POS, and NEG to NEG...sometimes dirty/weak connections do not allow the power to transfer fully from the underhood connections...if this is the case then you need to connect directly to the battery in trunk for full power charge...again POS to POS, and NEG to NEG...hope this helps

1997 Mitsubishi Montero sport, dont have the cover for my fuses and I need to know which is the "ECU" fuse to try resetting my computer.

Often disconnecting the main battery for say 5 mins should do the trick without needing to find the fuse.

Someone hooked jumper box up backwards on van and tried ti start it it ran great before that after it wouldn't start at all changed the computer now it starts runs a few mins then shuts off what could it...

You will have to take it to the Dealer. You may have burnt out or the "Control Module" needs to be replaced or reprogrammed. Make sure the battery has not reversed polarity also.

Jumped my 2007 1100 classic crossed cables and now nothing

YOU MUST NOT JUMP A MOTORCYCLE. CAR, VAN AND TRUCK BATTERIES WILL FRY YOUR BATTERY. If you are lucky by crossing the leads you might have only made the battery die. Get a new battery regardless. Please note: - WHEN YOU REMOVE THE BATTERY REMOVE THE NEGATIVE LEAD FIRST. I would check all fuses next followed by a good look at the the wiring around the battery area. If you can get close to the rectifier/regulator (I know it sounds strange) see if you can smell a burnt almost fishy type smell. If you can then the rect/reg is probably fried too. When you have got and filled the new battery charge it (ONLY USE A DEDICATED MOTORCYCLE BATTERY CHARGER A CAR ONE WILL FRY IT). ALSO WHEN YOU REFIT THE BATTERY CONNECT THE POSITIVE LEAD FIRST. Hope this helps to some degree.

Took battery out of my 1993 buick riviera, put back in now starts then dies

how did you disconnect the battery, pos first then neg ? or neg first then pos ? try starting it and after started, hold your rpm at 1500, for about two minutes, then if still running, drive it to get to.speeds of 40 for about 15 minutes, this is to relearn if not, disconnect your battery, take the pos and neg cable and touch them together and hold for about a minute, then Connect them back, neg.first.then pos, then follow steps above to.relearn.

Crossed jumper cables and now no power

Ouch.. you need to take this bike to a professional.. the amperage generated by a car battery are WAY TOO high for a motorcycle wiring system. There is no way to tell what you have fried with the EXCESS AMPERAGE AND "GOING IN BACKWARDS" CAUSES MORE ISSUES.. Good luck!!

Left the lights on .. how to jump the battery in a 2005 Passat wagon.

It jumps like any other car. Pos. good battery...Pos. bad battery...Neg. bad battery...Neg. good battery. Then do reverse after it starts. Let old battery charge from new battery with car running if it needs more power to crank over.
