What year is the bike. Do you have a schematic or are you looking for one??
SOURCE: harley davidson springer front end
adjustment is in rockers, not springs; take it to a qualified tech; its not hard but does take practice and knowledge of what you are doing that is pretty tricky to convey in a chat room; springers are cool but very maintenance intensive; don't slack on it, it can be very dangerous...T

SOURCE: Need the torque spec on the acorn nuts that fasten
I have a slightly older springer, but they are probably the same. The shop manual says in reference to the acorn nuts on top of the spring restraints, "Tighten acorn nuts to 30-35 ft-lbs torque."

A Harley-Davidson engine is a dry sump type engine. It carries it's oil in a remote tank rather in an oil pan on the engine. It has a pump that pumps the oil from the tank into the engine. There are two paths that the oil takes, one to the tappets to lubricate them and one to the end of the pinion side of the crankshaft, through the gearcase cover. The oil, once it's lubricated the parts, is returned to the gearcase cover by the use of crankcase pressure and the oil pump scavenges the oil out of that cavity. It is pumped to the oil filter and from there back to the tank. The piston skirts and the crankshaft case bearings are lubricated with an oil mist generated by the moving crankshaft. I hope this answers your question.
Good Luck
Steve
