Take carb off again and check float height it should be 8.8 +- 1mm then screw air mixture screwin untill it just seat the unscrew 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 turns once running set idle to 2000 +- 100 for the 50 and 2100 +- 100 for the 100 model

SOURCE: put new engine in carnt get a spark at plug sym

There may be several things causing this fault (your sure the plug is fine?)

The ignition systems on these bikes are pretty basic. The Stator plate provides power to the CDI unit, which builds up until the pulser tells it to send the power to the coil and produce the spark

1. is there voltage from the stator plate (under flywheel) - you can test with a basic multimeter.

2. is the pulser sending a pulse - also can be tested with basic multimeter

3. is the CDI blown? - swap out to test

4. Is the Coil blown? - can be tested with multimeter

it is also very possible that you may have got a couple of wires mixed up when you switched engines.

My sym symply 50 was left 4 bout 6 wks over xmas cos wouldnt start. i have snce put new batter an spark plug on. it nowstarts 1st time an will run idle for ever but after riding for while it cuts out it...

sounds like dirt in the carb. If left for a while the petrol will go off and clog up the jets in the carb. I suggest replacing the fuel and cleaning out the carb.

99' Suzuki GXS-R 600.. Won't start unless you pull the "CHOKE" and stalls if you turn off the Choke. Also it sputters at idle, I drained the tank and put in fresh gas, replaced air filter... want to...

overhaul the carburetors or just take them apart and clean them you may have needles sticking and jets plugged, buy a kit, and or clean all pieces of carb inside and out with gum out carb cleaner and put back together blow all airs out with compressed air. When done screw in air fuel mixture screws all the way and turn counter clockwise out 3 full turns to fire it up then adjust accordingly.

Engine stalls when throttled

clean air filter fuel filter and fuel tank and lines. Then the varb needs to have the bowl removed to allow the float to be removed,(carefull to not loose fuel needlle or retaining spring.)The jet and orfaces should be cleaned (when the jet is removed be sure the seat for jet goes back the same way....the seat and jet have a rounded shape that fits closely together, not round and flat together.)Ok so be sure not to adjust anything, just clean it and put it back together.Using carb cleaner is the best, you should have mot of the can leftover.Dont let it get on anything (except the carburetor) it will ruin paint and the finish on your engine if you let it!

I am currently rebuilding a 1983 honda cbx 550 that was not running when i got it. I just finished rebuilding the motor and got it started and it idles great but as soon as i touch the throttle it bogs...

hi,if the bike has been stood for a while,or played with by some one,the best thing you can do is strip the carbs and clean them,it sounds like a blocked main jet also check the fuel filter in the fuel tank(part of the fuel tap),stale fuel in the carbs will congeal and gum ,this deposit will block the main fuel stream through the carb, give the carbs a good clean up and your problem may go away...cheers

Is there a spark at the plug? if so its likely to be fuel related... is the plug getting wet? if so its likely to be air (or spark) related

Please mark this as helpful (if it has been!!)

Civic '92 engine normal starts then stalls after 2 mins

Ihave the same experience try to remove the idle jet located next to the starting jet. But be careful in removing it as it will break easily ( you will need a flat screwdiver to do it ) clean it with a wire that closest size of the jet. change your fuel filter ang drain all the fuel inside before putting it back. make sure to put some air pressure on each holes on the carb so it flush all unwanted particles inside and pls dont use silicone in sealing the rubbers inside.
