The alternator is probably not charging, put a multi meter across the battery terminals, a bit above 12 v with engine off, should rise over 13v with engine running( some alternators charge up to 15-16v)

use a vom/ meter on current setting put in circuit ..take hot off battery attach one lead to bat + the other lead to heavy cable u just disconnected. but 1st charge bat to full. see current draw. start to pull one fuse at a time till current drops. that circuit is the culprit. then youll need to find out why is drawing w/ bike off. wire chafed ? minor short.. or when running meter on battery 14.5 volts not running 12.5 volts if the vovtages don't go up when running regulator or altinator is bad or bat wire .. get the manual.. a big help...

Will not hold a charge it has a new battery, stator and rectifier.

Take it back to the dealer! they will check for free. It is one of those. Sometimes you get a new part that is still bad, it happens. Take it to any reputible dealer and like i said, they will check it for free

2000 ford focus dies when coming to a stop and battery light stays on. Brand new battery and alternator just put on

Battery light on ! alternator isn't charging . Test the alternator electrical circuits .Main cable on the back of the alt. should have B+ voltage .Pin # 3 at the connector on the alt. should have B + voltage - fuse F10 10amp under hood fuse box supply's B+ to pin #3 . Pin's 1 & 2 at the connector go to the PCM - engine computer . This is a computer controlled charging system .

Wont recharge the battery when riding and gauges quit working completly. When i put a new battery on it it works and runs fine untill the battery dies could this be related to my stator

I could be realted to the Stator, but much more likely diodes or regulator. It sounds like you are running on battery alone. You need 13.8 to 14,5 volts at the battery at 2000 rpm. I suspect that you have 12.x, and are not charging...

883 sporster, battery charges but will die after 3 or 4 miles of riding

check how much the battery is being charged with all the lights on if its more that a fuw amps it should be ok but how old is the battery? an old battery may not hold a good charge, so try another battery on it before buying a new battery

Replaced stator and battery, bike still givin trouble

the regulater is located between tha battery and the gas tank .There are (3) white and(2)red wires .See if they are showing signs of damage from heat more than likley they are because when you "boost" or jump these bikes you burn a very weak diode witch regulates the charging time from the stator i would check ebay for the best price on a new regulater rectifier you may need one.I had the same problem with my 2000 model r6.good luck bro!
