Zanussi zwh 6120 p is not filling up with water or spinning half way through a cycle. It just stops

http://elektrotanya.com/zanussi_zwh_6120p_wiring_diagram.pdf/download.html

looking at the diagram for the machine
i see the line door this is used to turn on and off the motor
i think if the heating element fails or one of its fuses {prob a bad element} then the machine will stop half into a cycle because it cant heat up
so it will just stop dead

its not a very intellegent machine so i expect no error codes etc
hope im right and its the heater etc... as it makes sense if you look over the diagram at the link above

check the belt switch by the motor if it wont start, also the thermal fuse on the blower housing,if the motor turns the drum, but no heat, then the element, high limit thermostat on the element case can be suspect,or the heat cycling ther5mostat on the blower housing and again the thermal fuse located there also can be suspect

1986 mecedes 190e heat and air works but comes on and goes

Could be strip fuse for blower motor, or brushes need replaced on motor, or your auto mode is working like intended and when it reaches its temp it slows down.

NO HEAT

A blower relay usually has a set of closed contacts that go to the  motor and when the 1st element comes on the power goes on through the sequencer and then these contacts and to the motor heating speed. If you have a blower in AC and with the fan sw to ON u can run the blower on manual 100% of the time until someone can come look at it and the heater coils will cycle on and off with the thermostat. Dont worry about the cost compaird to the elements the motor is nothing and the heat it generates is going into the heated home anyway.
