The sort you add to the fuel? Reasonable for fuel injected engines but not for carburetors. Remove, strip down on a bench, clean with Carb Spray and reassemble. For the idle mixture screw, screw fully in and count the turns and write it down, something like 1 3/4 turns. Lay out everything in order or removal.
****, squeeze, bang, blow... check filter, fuel and spark... its going to be prob a fuel problem. if the bike hasnt been running all winter run some gumout through it... and get rid of the fuel thats been sitting in the tank. more info would help but it sounds like you got varnish in your carb....
