Question about 2003 Honda Silverwing 600

Open Question

How to change the main fuse on a 2003 Honda Silver wing scooter.

Scooter was dead. I tried charging current battery. It would not charge. Purchased new battery. Installed new battery and tested it for power. Battery has power, but scooter has No Power. Nothing turns on when I put the key in: no lights, horn, turn signals, etc. The fuses under the seat and been checked and are all OK. I suspect the main fuse could be blown. How do I change the main fuse?

SOURCE: bike will not start no power

Touch a 12" piece of wire to one terminal then touch the other end of the wire to the other terminal. Got a really good spark? No spark = bad battery. Okay, so you do get a good spark. Check the wiring harness for an unplugged wire. Also check for loose connections and burned wires. Bad ignition switch? Kill switch turned on?

SOURCE: no juice in bike with new battery

Hi I am Vortash common fault with this model bike was the ignition switch a quick test is put a meter across the the battery .. you should read 12 -13volts if the voltage drops when the ignition is switched it's usually is ok but not allways it is just a quick check sometimes it is intermittent now see how far the voltage drops if it is considerable chances are you have a short .. usually the rectifier or the starter feel the battery see if it is getting warm with the ignition on this will also indicate a short .. check for bad earth connections particarly from the battery to the frame.. Check all fuses in this country there was one on the main lead from the battery .. hope this helps regards Vortash

My scooter has new batteries but the power drains very quickly. Have about 15 minute steady ride then battery is dead

Either the batteries are no good or the new ones are not being charged properly and are low on charge to start off with. Test alternator/regulator for output.

Scooter will not charge. New charger, new batteries, new fuse, still will not charge? Can you help?

Get the batteries load tested and the charger output current checked. May be new but they can still fail. Is it the correct charger for the size of batteries?

Is the key turned off on the scooter while charging?

most scooter batteries take 5 to 8 hours to charge correctly the only backup methods are the following
if you have a detachable battery box .pride gogo ect a spare battery box can be purchased and kept charged.
there is no quick way emergency charge if you run out of power
just charge it evrey time you use it and for a min of 8 hours to keep your batteries in top condition, have them tested if you think low range.

Batteries wont charge

You would need a voltmeter to check the charger in order to see if it is charging the batteries. New batteries if purchased from a reputable outfit will have a nominal charge and should work initially in order to test the scooter. Depending on the model check for blown fuses and disconnected wires on the battery boxes, connections, plugs and charging circuits including the wall outlet. The display on the scooter will indicate the state of charge and the key switch should work and give an initial indication that the scooter is on. If you provide make and model I can respond with more specific information.

When charging electric mobility scooter, the yellow light never changes to green.

defective batteries or charger, try to charge the batteries one at a time with a car charger, if they charge then replace the charger, if they do not then the batteries are in need of replacment.
