at the factory they put numbers on top of the coils to
get the spark plug wires in the right order , but when
you replace the coils it does not matter the numbers they
all work the same what it matter is to put the right wires in it
3.8 V6 the order is in front of the car the first coil two spark plug wires # 1 and # 4,second coil #5 and #2 the next coil #3 and #6 now in front of the car wires are front left to right you got
# 1# 3 # 5 on the back of the engine you got from left to right #2 # 4 #6 you get them wrong the car will misfire or it won't start ... good luck..
sitting on bike the left coil plugs to 1 and 3 , the right coil plugs 2 and 4,this is a wasted spark ignition , both cylinders recieve spark but only one is on the compression stroke

If it's the four cyl., the first coil pack bolts over the #2 spark plug. The #2 coil pack wire plugs into #3 spark plug. The number two coil pack bolts directly over the number four spark plug, and the #2 coil pack wire plugs into the #4 plug. The firing order is 1-4-2-3.
On dis ignition systems if you have an open circuit plug wire you will lose spark on both cylinders of the coil. So however you are checking for spark,(screwdrivers or spark testers) Check cylinders 1 and 4 at the same time. A good way to eliminate the possibility of a bad plug wire is to take both wires off the coil and start the engine. Spark should jump from the coil tower to the coil mounting bolts. If it doesn't replace the ignition module.
