The controller on my 2003 MZ Charly electric scooter is bad and I am having a tough time finding a replacement one. My scooter IS the electric one that folds up for transport. If anyone has a wiring diagram, that would also be helpful and I would gladly pay for it. Thanks! RKPalais

Drive Scout 4 electric scooter. Why does it beep seven times when trying to make it go?

The Drive Scout 4 electric scooter beeps seven times when trying to make it go because it indicates a throttle control issue. The seven beeps signify that the throttle control is not in the neutral position. This can happen due to a faulty throttle potentiometer or a loose connection between the throttle and the controller.

It is good to know that you have already tested the potentiometers and replaced them with new parts. However, if the issue persists, you may want to check the wiring harness for any loose connections or damage. A damaged wiring harness can cause intermittent problems with the throttle control, resulting in the seven-beep error code.

Another possible cause of this issue could be a faulty controller. If all other components work correctly, but the scooter still beeps seven times, it may be time to replace the controller.

In summary, the Drive Scout 4 electric scooter beeps seven times when trying to make it go due to a throttle control issue caused by a faulty potentiometer, a loose connection, a damaged wiring harness, or a faulty controller.

Merits regal mobility scooter beeps 9 times

hi, normally 9 flashes means controller failure but can be caused by a bad connection.

Locate the controller and refit all connections but i recommend removing a battery terminal lead first.

Hi , is it the Midi or Maxi XL model ? PG Controller (normally a silver colour ) has the following as the listed fault

There is a bad connection to the motor and the controller

If 's it a Rhino controller normally a blue colour ,

The battery is completely empty. The scooter does not drive.
• Recharge the battery immediately.
If the scooter is left off for a few minutes, the battery may recover enough
to allow driving again for a short time. However, driving on an empty
battery may cause damage to the battery.

Flashes 3 times then pauses and then flashes 1time

That means your throttle control is not working properly. You need to replace it. You can find one at Monster Scooter parts.

From willaston auto electrics adelaide , customer brouht in a pride pathfinder 4 wheeler no forward or reverse movement, has power to volt gauge, horn works, any suggestions appreciated

neville the problem could be numerous things but lets try the simple ones first. a bad throttle pot or speed control pot can cause that problem. Both of those are located in the tiller console and that has to be removed to test them. You can ohms check both with power off and you can voltage check them with power on. You should get a smoth change in resistance as you turn th speed pot and as you move the throttle forward and reverse with power off. alsdo chech the connections in the tiller and remove the seat and battery cover and check the connections at the rear of the scooter sometimes just moving the wires can get it moving again but that won't help you locate the problem if you can't isolate the bad connection or bad wire. Scooters are tough to repair because of the many connectors that they have and the cables runnig front to rear that can cause problems especially with Pride scooters Good Luck I know I didn't give you much but I'm not fond of working on scooters Hope this Helps

There are a few components to check when diagnosing electric scooter issues.

1. Batteries
2. Wiring
3. Controller
4. Throttle Assembly
5. Fuses

Once you inspect all of these for damage, you can test your motor and batteries, by bypassing the controller, and directly hooking the batteries to the motor. If the motor spins very fast, then you have good batteries, and a good motor. The controller will need to be replaced. If your motor spins slowly, you could require new batteries or Controller, or battery, depending on the results.

You can find replacement parts and service locator here.
