most oil filters are screw off /screw on type ,you may need a oil filter remover tool to get them off when you replace them be sure to smear a light coat of oil on to the rubber ring on the filter to prevent damaging it ....hope this helps.....cheers
Need standard mineral oil SAE10W/40, amount needed abt 3-3.5L. Some aftermarket filters doesnot give a 'O'ring seal replacement, OEM will. If you remove the filter carefully, the O-ring should be alright to be re-used. Good?
I'm not familiar with every year model but most of the time on a Softail, the oil drain is a hose that runs down the frame on the right side of the bike. It ends down low just behind the transmission. There is a plug in the hose, remove the plug to drain the oil.
The type of oil is SAE 5W30 and your going to need 4.3 liters with the oil filter changed. The filter i use is WIX oil filter and part number is 51036. Good luck and hope this helps.
The filter sits on top of the transmission. look under the hood on drivers side it screws right on top of the transmission. It looks like an engine oil filter.
