SOURCE: Engine filling up with gas

there is no way for fuel to get passed the rings right? So if you filled the head with fuel, it would just work its way down the exhaust pipe and out the back, just like its doing. The only way of getting fuel into the sump is; if you have seriously bad rings (it would be burning oil) OR if its getting through the breather system. I don't even think if the injectors were on full-time, it still wouldn't get into the sump... very strange. Are you sure its not coolant? A serious coolant leak can be completely unnoticeable from the outside, but catastrophic to the inside. __________________

SOURCE: gas runs out of from carburetor

if you suspect the float is stuck, grab a screwdriver and tap the carb float bowl with the handle. you should be able to see this from the bottom of the tank. hopefully this will unstick the float.

if it doesn't, then it will require removing the carb and taking the float bowl off and seeing if the float is adjusted properly.

SOURCE: 2007 yamaha virago won't start - replaced spark

it's not that your not gettin gas it's that the gas is not getting thru the carbs to the engine. your bike will probably start w/choke on and then die, your jets are clogged and happens to most bikes that are stored w/gas in the carbs.,,,clean them if you know how or take it to a trusted mech...good luck to you...Tim

Scooter not getting gas to carb.

Silly question, but are you sure you are getting gas through the line? Could the line from the tank be plugged? How about the tank port?

Do you have a gas line diagram for gas trimmer

If it has a primer bulb those typically connect to the carburetor at the diaphragm with a return line going to the tank. The larger line is for the carburetor fuel feed from the tank. All lines that are meant to draw fuel from the tank will feature a filter on the end usually inside of the tank.

Gas leaking from the vent tube on the gas tank

The standpipe sits in the tank and connects the filter "sock". The only vents, or overflows, should either be from the carburetors (overflow) or vacuum vent (typically found on dirt bikes) on gas lid. You should have no lines that directly "vent" from the tank. It is possible you have the wrong tank installed on the bike. Just a suggestion. ^^ I hope this helps.

Need a diagram of fuel gas lines on a 131 poulan

Lots of research has shown a lack of diagrams on fuel line routing. Your carburetor has the purge/primer bulb on top of it. Just to help you understand how it works....the bulb uses a vacuum effect to pull fuel from the tank directly into the carburetor and the check valves in the plate under the bulb (known as the primer base assembly) push any air and old fuel inside the carb back into the fuel tank. On your model, the line inside the tank with the fuel filter on it will come out and go to the carburetor body BELOW the base assembly. The other line coming out of the tank (fuel return line) will go TO the nipple on the base assembly. The lines should be nice and soft and so should the bulb. They all have to be replaced periodically as alcohol, heat and age deteriorate them. Please post back if needed.

Your throttle cable is likely to be rusted. It can be saved with a liberal spray of WD-40 into the cable shroud and left to run down the cable inner. You have to remove this cable and hang up from one end.
Fuel residue is likely to interfere with the smooth operation of the carburettors. Remove the fuel line from tank, and remove drain plugs from carby's. Spray continously some Carburetor Cleaner (avail. all auto accessory stores) down the fuel hose till it comes out the base of carby's. Allow to evaporate and repeat. A full tank cleaning fluid is also available from most auto shops. Thoroughly check all rubber components, wheels and brakes before getting back on the road. Cheers

I think someone hooked up fuel lines wrong. The bike runs out of fuel when the fuel switch is on. Both lines out of tank go to secondary tank and bottom line on secondary tank has fuel filter and goes to...

not that familiar w/Yamaha,but disconnected vacuum hoses may connect to fuel petcock at tank.I know Honda uses a system that only allows fuel to flow when vacuum is supplied.
