It means your bike has recorded an trouble (error) code. depending on the year of the bike you can get them to display on the speedo or you will have to have Harley or shop find out what the code(s) are.

Yes you can reset at home:

1. To reset MAINT reminder light after engine oil replacement, turn ignition switch to OFF position with odometer showing ODOMETER READING. Turn ignition switch to ON position while holding down trip meter RESET button.
2. Hold trip meter RESET button down for at least 5 seconds until odometer indicates "000000" and MAINT reminder light goes out.

9A5CAP appear on the odometer of a 2007 dodge caravan what does 9A5CAP mean ?

Gas cap could be loose, check that. Then you need to have code cleared with a scanner. Autozone may do it for free.

Speed odometer

LSI 4cylinder or 3cylinder? engine. , all answer USA cars.
all answers now, are 3cylinder

did the odometer quiet too?
key fact
and in USA< connect any scan tool and see if VSS died.

the usa 96, 1.0L 3cyl has the VSS sensor in the speedo
and when the cable snaps, Speedo to transaxle flex drive cable.
snamps
the speed goes dead
the odometer goes dead
and Vss goes dead.
easy huh, if all 3 are dead.
but if speedo ONLY goes dead, that means ITS dead.
vss= veh.speed sensor. or MPH sensor.

2005 Harley Davidson road glide When I throttle up the check engine light comes on When I hold a steady throttle the check engine light goes off I have replaced the fuel filter fuel hoses with factory...

Pull any error codes.

How?

1 - Turn the ignition switch to off & run/stop switch is to run .
2 - Push odometer reset button in & HOLD .
3 - Turn the ignition switch on and then release odometer reset button. The background lighting should illuminate & the speedometer needle should sweep it's full range & indicator lamps ( battery , security , low fuel , check engine and cruise ) should illuminate . The word "DIAG" should then appear .
4 - Push the odometer reset button once and you will see the selection menu "PSSPtb" with the first P flashing .
5 - Each letter represents a area of the diagnostics module. The module that is flashing is the one you are going to check . To move from one letter to the next you must push the odometer reset button one time . ( from P to S to SP to t to b and back to P , ect ect )
P = ECM
S = TSM/TSSM/HFSM
SP = speedometer
t = tachometer
b = ABS codes
6 - To get the DTC code in a area of diagnostics you should PUSH & HOLD the odometer reset button in for 5 seconds and the release . If there are any DTC's the code will be displayed or the word " none " will appear if there are no DTC's . Push the odometer reset button again to view any additional codes if they exist .
7 - Record the codes .
8 - If DTC's are NOT to be cleared , press and release the odometer reset button . Part #of module will be displayed .
9 - If DTC's are to be cleared for that module , PRESS & HOLD the odometer reset button until " clear " is displayed .
10 - Press and release the odometer reset button to continue to the next module .
11 - Turn the ignition switch off to exit the diagnostic mode.

Once you have any codes, look them up, or post here (I have a manual that translates the codes), to find out what they mean.

Transmission speed sensor

You could have a faulty speedometer/odometer combination meter causing a false Vehicle Speed Sensor error.
My 1998 Sienna had the following symptoms:
- Speedometer and odometer failed intermittently
- The check engine light would come on and I would get a p0500 code in the OBDII.
- The cruise control would stop working at the same time the speedometer failed.
There is a speed sensor in each one of the tires and they feed the speed information to the ABS ECU. From the ABS ECU the speed signal goes to the speedometer/odometer combination meter, and from there it goes to the Engine Control Module and to the Cruise Control ECU. I could see a signal coming into the speedometer/odometer, but no signal going out. Replacing the speedometer/odometer combination meter fixed the problem.

Went i turn the key the engine light go out right away

I hope it does and you do too. If the check engine light does'nt go out right away it means theirs something wrong or has been and the computer is checking to see if it's a problem atr the moment. If thier hasn't been any problems and thier aren't any problems at start up the light should go out right away. If your talking about the oil light it also will go out as soon as the engine turns just a little, It shows that the one way valve in the oil filter is holding and as soon as the pump turns any theirs pressure. Thats good too. As far as the check engine light goes if you turn the key on without starting the engine three times and leave it on the third time the check engine light will flash out the codes or the odometer display will tell the codes or display no cdes stored if their aren't any depending on the model year. If you were to say the make year and model I'd tell you the exact answer. before 1987 they didn't flash out the codes and had tobe disnosed with a test light and an OHM meter. trucks did'nt do it till 89 93 they went OBDII and the odometer displayed the code and the basic name of the problem the code stands for.

Hello, I have a 2002 honda civic ex. When I turn the key on I get the maintanence required light. after the engine starts the light blinks 10 times and then goes out. I couldn't find any guidance in the...

First, make sure you are talking about your mainanence required light, and not your check engine light.
Your maintanence required light is telling you that some normal maintanence is required since you have traveled some pre-determined number of miles (pre-determined by Honda). For example, it could mean an oil change should take place, etc. If you keep track of those things on your own, then you need only reset the light, as follows:
Turn off the engine.
Press and hold the Select/Reset knob (odometer) in the instrument panel, then turn the ignition switch just to ON (II). Do not start the car.
Hold the knob for approximately ten seconds until the indicator resets.
Hope this helps you.

CHeck Engine Light / odometer goes haywire

this is most likely due to the Vehicle Speed Sensor malfunctioning, this will set the check engine light and cause the Odometer issue as well, have a system computer test run to see what trouble code is stored in memory, that will pin it down.
