STALLING When it was cold my car would stall backing out of parking spot.Mostly in the am, but when i would leave it set for more than 4 hours. I assumed it was because i didn't let i warm up enough. So now it is 50 out all the time and i still can not just start up and drive off, i still need 5 min of warm up. and then sometimes it still stalls at stop lights and stop signs for like to first 5 min or so. now this am it almost didn't start. i did finally get it to. i let it run for about 8 min. it took off fine but stalled going down the road under power. i pulled off, put i in neutral and it started fine and ran fine the rest of the way to work. what is this? anyone know. and if so it is going to cost me a small fortune to fix?

Engine sputtering

The temperature gauge on ALL car should always start at the extreme cold end, because of the accuracy range of the sensing device.
Your sputtering and stalling might be a automatic choke problem.
Knowing this will happen you can brake with your left foot and press the accelerator just enough to prevent the stall, when you have to stop.
Get a can of carburetor cleaner, take the filter / intake cowling off, and spray all moving parts of the carb really well.

If this does OR doesn't help find a NEW mechanic!

In most cases the problem is a dirty throttle body or a faulty idle air control valve.
The computer controls the idle speed by the amount of air going into the throttle body thru the valve.

Car stalling out and bot starting after being driven for awhile.

mcdevito75 Here, It"s possible the ignition Module is going bad, no way to test and if so, one day the car will not start at all.----------It can also be a vapor loc, wher the fuel is evaporating before it reaches the cylinders. Best Bet, have your local shop check both these items.

The gear shift on my 1998 Lincoln Navigator is difficult to move out of park. It started about a month ago, when I tried to back out of my parking spot at home. Tonight, the vehicle died on me at a stop...

It can be either the shift cable or the Automatic parking brake release.
With your vehicle stalling it sounds like the parking brake release is leaking vacuum and causing stalling.

You can check with Autozone or Oreillys to see if there is an aftermarket part for that. Then locate the Auot release on your vehicle and when you take it off, slide the parts within the fixture to verify sticking.

Bmw 325i 2003 stall

Sounds like you have a small bit of dirt or grit in the fuel system when accelerating it is drawn with enough force to cut off the fuel supply then is released when engine at Idle.
1 run liquid fuel line/injector cleaner in 1 tank
2 check fuel lines for debris
3 change fuel filters
4 have fuel tank flushed
here is trouble shooting order less expense to greater.

Car stalling intermitatly

This problem has probably been solve by now but I will still give a possible solution to ones who have the same problem ,it happens regularly on most Daewoo models,I have had 4 different models my current one a Lanos. The problem is usually located with removing the stepper motor or another name for it is the idle control valve.they cannot be fixed but replaced.what happens , you have irregular idle or your engine sticks at 2000 to 3000 rpm. They are easy to remove and replace but they have got be set at the engine specifications.another reason for stalling problems could be to do with the thermostat is faulty or missing ,sounds strange but because todays cars are mostly run by computer it affects many of the systems , I hope this is helpful.
