Question about 2003 kawasaki KX 250

2 Answers

No Spark 2003 KX250 was running then slowly died. After checking fuel then spark I found that I wasn't getting any spark. I tried putting a screwdriver in the plug wire and holding on to it while touching the head and kicking the enging over and got no shock. Any thoughts as how to diagnose this further would be helpful.

No water anywhere... I was riding in the desert but pulled the left side cover anyway and found it bone dry. Also disconnected all electrical plugs and sprayed with contact cleaner... no help there either.

Check to see if its not the kill button shorting out. Disconnect it and try to see if it has spark. If not get meter and check the cdi output from the engine and then work down the line. cdi, coil. then hopefully its not cdi box.

You got the ignition wet...pull side cover off and WD40 the bejeesuz out of the internals pieces, then air lance it out and reseal the side cover...can't remember, but I think it's the left side cover?

I have a 2003 Kia sedona ran out of igas now wont start the code I get say crank posistioning sensor will that cut or cause the fuel pump not to work cause I get no humming from it the code is p0335

No this does not affect the fuel pump. It will affect the spark though. Hit the gas tank in the center a few times. If it starts then replace the fuel pump. Unfortunetly pumps with a few yaers on them will die when ran out of gas. If it doesn't start pull one of the spark plug wires, insert a screwdriver and put it close to the engine. crank the engine and watch for a spark. if there is no spark then replace the crank shaft sensor. before you replace the fuel pump.

My 2003 ford taurus stopped working. I thought it might be the spark plugs so I replaced the ones in front, but not the ones in back yet. The car still won't turn over. A friend said that when I put the...

If it will not 'turn over' (crank) you need to charge the battery first or see if a jump will crank it over-then if it will not start, you need to see if it is getting spark. You can tell by watching the tach on the dashboard, if the needle moves, it is getting spark. The fuel pump is in your gas tank, but you can determine if it is working by removing the valve cap on the fuel rail (top of engine) and turn on the key use a small screwdriver to press in the center pin in the valve (have a rag handy because if it does spray, it is about 50 PSI of fuel). The engine does not need to be running to test this.

My car keeps dieing its like starving for gas and running rough, like a vacum problem

have you checked fuel filters/fuel injectors? if your SURE its vacuum problem, take a can of carburetor cleaner and slowly spray around vacuum fittings with the car running, if it revs up, you've found your leak. (if the problem is bad enough that it won't stay running long enough to do this, then idk)

Motor was running great, but it died slowly and never start again

check to see if you have a spark -then check if you are still getting fuel-and how old is the fuel-because it is recommended ,an im assuming its a 2 stroke motor, that the fuel should be replace with a fresh 2 stroke mixture every couple of months as the mixture jellyfies and sludges up the carb etc-try those first

Do you have Spark at the spark plugs? Try checking for spark by removing wire from the spark plug put a screwdriver into the sparkplug boot hold it 1/4 inch away from a good ground don't hold the screwdriver or your get bit. If there is a bright blue spark it's good, next check to see if you have fuel, first turn the key to the run position next listen for a hum or whine from the fuel tank with the door open holding the buzzer switch in on the door. If you here a hum then find the pressure test port for the fuel, if it does not have one try loosening the fuel line and see if you have fuel. If it's throttle body type then pull air line or filter off and look inside the throttle body and have someone press on the fuel with the key in the run position does it spray fuel? Yes?? Then may have jumped time if not you may need fuel pump.
