Question about Yamaha Genuine Yfm 350 Yfm 600 Yfm660 Raptor Warrior Air Filter Old Stock

1987 Yamaha Moto4 350 popping and backfiring while running. Has to power to attempt to put in gear, much less drive. Replaced the carb with a new one and it still has this issue. I read somewhere that the parking brake handle could be an issue. The parking handle did just break that morning. Any suggestions on what may be the problem?

Could be a adjustment in the timing or carb , clean the plugs on it and crank it over with them out could be dirty plugs ,

indicates a problem in the high speed circuit , probably a blockage
might also be an incorrect float level that is not allowing enough fuel into the bowl for hgfh speed operation

My 1987 GMC s15 automatic 4x4 pickup keeps popping out of normal gear. The only gear it stays in is 4 low. Where do I start?
I'm assuming you're talking about the transfer case popping out of 2 high or even 4 high. It could be that the transfer case needs a chain or gears replaced and is slipping on the cogs/gears. In 4 low it takes less pressure/strain to move the vehicle so it doesn't slip. I would put the trans. AND transfer case in neutral, with the FRONT wheels blocked, and NOT running, jack at least one rear wheel off of the ground, and try turning the rear drive shaft back and forth to feel the free play (free play in the transfer case, not the rear end). Excessive free play should tell you that the drive chain/gears are very warn and could be slipping. That would be a start.

I have an 1987 Yamaha 535cc Virago, the bike backfires, I have loss of power, the rear plug is black with carbon, the front plug has as carbon but is wet. the front diaphragm is slightly wrinkled aro
Definetly have some carb issues. And they will need to come off,be cleaned,floats set,and synched. If youve never done this before,id suggest that this bike NOT be your first attempt. They are VERY finnicky!!

Hi, im preety shure the carbs are dirty and need to be cleaned, soaked and re syncronized, the idle circuit jets are plugged.

I have a 1986 yamaha virago 700 that wont run properly
2 things need to be done first start your bike get a can of wd40 after your bike is warm and running spray around the carb jointsall 4 of them if your engine changes rpms up or down you have a intake leak ether your carb joint gaskets or o-rings need replacing or your carb joints are old and need replacing. at this point wont hurt to have you carbs cleaned also

Yamaha blaster backfire badly
well i have had the same problem and it was a gear on the right side of the motor. the clip came off and the motor died. i did get it started to get it home but it backfired really bad the entire time. put the gear back on and has ran like a raped ape ever since. hope this helps.

Engine kiking and bucking and backfireing
The carborator is dirty, & needs to be cleaned. The low speed jet is plugged, make it pop and backfire. Also clean the air filter, and install a new spark plug.
